Beautiful Style Baby Top With Layered Skirt Cutting and Stitching | DIY Trending Baby Top With Skirt
Hey DIY lovers! Welcome back to our channel! Today, I’m super excited to show you how to create this adorable baby top with a layered skirt. It’s perfect for any little fashionista in your life!
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
First things first, let’s gather all the materials you’ll need:
• Fabric for the top and skirt (choose something soft and comfortable)
• Elastic for the waistband
• Measuring tape
• Scissors
• Pins
• Sewing machine (or you can hand sew if you prefer)
• Iron and ironing board
Step 2: Measurements
Measure your baby’s chest, waist, and desired length for the top and skirt. Make sure to add a few extra inches for seam allowance.
Step 3: Cut the Fabric
Using your measurements, carefully cut out the fabric for the top and skirt. Remember, for the skirt, you’ll need multiple layers for that adorable layered look!
Step 4: Sew the Top
Fold the fabric for the top in half, right sides together, and sew along the side seams. Then, hem the neckline and armholes.
Step 5: Create the Skirt
For each layer of the skirt, sew the side seams together, creating a tube. Then, gather the top of each layer to match the width of the previous layer.
Step 6: Attach the Skirt to the Top
With the skirt layers still inside out, stack them on top of each other and attach them to the bottom of the top. Make sure to evenly distribute the gathers.
Step 7: Add the Waistband
Measure the elastic to fit comfortably around your baby’s waist and sew the ends together to create a loop. Then, attach the elastic to the top of the skirt, stretching it as you sew to fit.
Step 8: Finishing Touches
Give your creation a final press with the iron to smooth out any wrinkles and voila! Your trendy baby top with a layered skirt is complete!
