Oh Kate, I cried, my heart filled with love, for your loving comments on these most distressing times, here in America. Thank you so much, for your caring, for being YOU, for your sharing your precious life with me and all of us on the lgs. Yes, the plates are spinning, some falling, but the kindness and friendships we share gives us strength and hope to persevere. Hugs and smiles to you, and all who are working to keep the good works spinning. 🤗❤

Absolutely true. Kate is so sweet , soothing voice and a creative talent. You Kate makes me want to come and walk into your homely home and sew. Cook, garden right by your side. I am sitting here in my apartment with a fracture in my right foot since November 12 and depressed again because I can't do what I love to do for Christmas and my 4 teenage grands. Yes, the USA is in a sad shape. Who can we blame for this situation? That is what I Believe God will take care of soon. He will straighten this Counrty and his people here soon. I love my home country be it is said to say it has come disarray due to the money and power hungry people who don't care about the great USA and the people Who are poor, middle class or the seniors who worked hard for this country . Sorry for the rampage , just have to trust and believe that God will take care of the USA and the other countries who are fighting for peace in their home country. Love to you and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thank you for sending love over to us here in America. We need it. It is surreal that from tonight, the county I live in and the surrounding Bay Area in Northern California, which has been under shelter in place for Covid19 since March 14th, is under curfew from 8:00pm until 5:00am. And this will be for the rest of the week. I would welcome a visit to Rivendale. Although I cant go there, I can watch Kate, and Norma, and Prudence ..... and feel a calmness, albeit for a brief while. Appreciation goes to you Kate for taking time to talk to us when your life has hit a few bumps in the road. Keep those plates spinning and take care. Meanwhile my husband made some love fruit scones and I made some strawberry preserves to put on them - plenty to go around everyone on the LGS.

I'm not sure when homely changed from being warm, cozy, loving, and peaceful to plain and unattractive, I'm thinking that it's just that the meaning changed over here in America at some point and we didn't remember what homely meant to some of our ancestors. Take care as always. Blessings!

Thanks for the little chat today. I have a similar problem regarding the noise during the tractor pull. Our small town holds the National Tractor Pull every year. People come from all over the world to spend an extended weekend of monster tractors that compete against each other. Everyone tries to out pull the others. It’s extremely loud and most pullers and fans enjoy beer and lots of it. They race from noon to 11:00 pm. This has been happening for 54 years. I feel your pain Miss Kate and daydream believer. This happens about a mile down the same road as my home! Yikes

Wow! 20,000 subscribers! I am not surprised Kate, you do such amazing things with craft, very inspiring and your home is very homely indeed. We are living in very strange and sad times, you know we really don't have time to hate do we? I really feel for our american friends right now, so very sad. If we can be anything in this world then we should be kind shouldn't we? Your garden looks beautiful, thank you for a lovely video, many blessings lovely lady, take good care of yourself xxx

I think you are a very caring thoughtful lady and I do so enjoy listen/watching to your channel. I watched your episode last night where you made the chocolate covered potato chips. I had to laugh at moments at your little side comments. You make me laugh. I am so happy you are here for us.

Thank you, Kate for the 'visit' this Sunday morning for it was a bit of a respite, for sure. It has been a horrible, painfully sad week here in the US. Thank you for acknowledging it. Your garden looks well but the little corner of your home where you filmed from was just perfect and soothing even. Stay well, Kate.

I love Tolkien and knew that this was from his writing. It was really lovely hearing another who loves his writing to be that taken with the stories. The view of the front of your home was gorgeous. I had not noticed this before and was thrilled by it. I agree with your sentiments about current events in America. Lots of love to you and yours Alicia.

Kate, I love seeing you when ever you are able. Sorry some of your plates are falling, prayers. I wish I was your neighbour. LOL I must say, your house is the way mine was before I started working outside of my home. That way soon dropped off. I am retired now and have found I am happier as I go back to the old me. You are inspiring to me. I just wish my husband was alive to see how I am now I know he would have loved it. I have stopped looking for others approval and doing what I love. Kate stay strong and well. Love

I’d say I’ve missed u so Kate but I’ve gone back to the beginning videos and catching up on those I’ve not seen. As for the “east” of the Sea, I can see ur reasoning but I love the “East of the Sea” appendage. It gives it a bit of an exotic, mystical appeal. I feel so at home and relaxed in ur “homely” house, the name of the channel so fits the atmosphere u conjure. When I want to relax and be calm, or a bit of a chuckle I wander to The Last Homely House East of the Sea. Thank you for welcoming me

So glad to see your video. You’ve been missed. The light in that room is just wonderful and a nice change of view. A boiling pot is a good description of what’s going on here in America. We are saddened, too. But if we Americans are anything, we are stubborn, strong and optimistic. Better days are ahead. Thank you for the lovely respite.

The opening shot of The Last Homely House and the lovely flowers at the start of the video is really beautiful. Kate I hope your Dad and brother are o.k. it is a very testing time for everyone but especially the very elderly. I hope that you have no more plates falling and you are able to distress and enjoy your beautiful home and garden and the things that you love to do. Keep safe and well everyone, love from Australia.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota where we are experiencing a nightmare, BUT our community remains strong, steadfast and as the sun rises each morning we converge en mass to support and bring some semblance of order to the devasted community of our fellow family. We will come out of this stronger and demand an end to institutionalized racism. It has been a long time coming but we have been slapped in the face by the blatant murder of George Floyd and the consequent uprising. I truly believe this is a start.

It was so nice to see you again. Hope all is well now with your Dad and brother. Living here in the cotswolds we have motorbikes sundays as well, they do a round trip and go passed our house way over the 40MPH speed limit. So I know what it's like. Take care Kate and thanks for a lovely few moments of calm listening to you. x

Thanks, Kate for your kind comments about things here in the USA. Because of the pandemic, I’m well over 2000 miles from my home in Maine and in an area more comfortable than I’m used to, so it feels good to hear your sentiments. I’m looking forward to the live stream!
