I was commenting to myself about geese putting out more than they take in, when you said the same thing. What a mess they make! My son and his friend were trying to get the geese off of a local baseball field, and his friend slipped in goose poop and broke his ankle.

Hi Kate. Love watching your videos on You Tube. I’m watching from South Africa. I have become slightly addicted to English paper piecing. I’ll try tag my latest project on Instagram. I’m hoping to make a trip to the Quilt show next year 2025 and visit some family who have moved to the UK. Maybe we will bump into each other there 😊

Dark at 3:00 - oh my, I feel that pain! It's dark here in NY state around 4:30 it's dim, by 5 o''clock pretty dark. So I fee horses about 4:30. and the chickens are in the coop and I can shut their door. But I hate the dark more than I hate the cold. The snow makes it difficult to get to the manure pile, water buckets freeze so I 'water' pretty constantly all day when it is super cold. So, quilting - yes - my eyes, my brain, NEED to absorb colors. It makes me much happier. I have arthritis in my thumbs so I can only do very limited hand sewing, but maybe I'll start a hexie project and just do a little bit each evening. I have the papers in my stash. I used to knit, maybe I can manage a bit of knitting on something simple like leg warmers. I love those. I don't need anymore hats or scarves! Thank you, my 'neighbor' Kate, for your peaceful videos. I put a bit of cinnamon in my coffee this morning and am enjoying watching you paper piece and chat with us before I go out for the second round of barn chores.

When I was a child in Germany I stayed overnight at my grandmother who was caring for her elderly parents so I had the privilege of knowing my great grandparents. I can still remember the feeling when she hugged me and the scent of her cologne. I’m 79 now and am grounded by the love of family. Like you they made lovely things .

I made a cordial for Christmas from limes, ginger, honey and turmeric. It occurred to me it would also be a cold remedy, too! Sounds like what you're making. Great minds.
