The most beautiful scenery in the world is in the most coldest places. Love the A330-200 in Air Greenland livery, very rare sight. Lovely takeoff although the Dash 8 pilot clearly didn't want to hang about!

They must have extended the runway to accommodate the A330/jets. Unusual to see it head backward so briefly and take off after a u-turn

The buildings on the left are the old USAF Base at Sondre. I was there for the Gulf war and there was a lot of landing and take off of cargo planes going to the Gulf.

I believe there is some runway expansion and new terminal at Kangerlussuaq, being constructed. Their was a huge explosion on YT a few weeks ago blowing up a mountain to make way for the expansion.

Joe Patroni All take offs are down wind for large airplanes there. All landings for larger airplanes are opposite in direction at that airport. It is unsafe in the other direction.

Greenland is a fascinating place but living there must truly be the most depressing thing in the world, I know Norwegian coastal cities in Finnmark (Northern Norway) is already extremely depressing and shit to live in, Greenland is very similar on the coast to Northern Norway so I can only imagine the torture but at least nature is nice.
