Trip from Nuuk to the suburb Qinngorput, on snowcovered roads. Sorry for the shaking, roads really covered in ice and snow.

This feels and sounds so relaxing for some reason. It's so quiet, dark and the snow makes the car sound so smooth

I'm from the UK and have wanted to visit Nuuk since 2010... Greenland is the most fascinating country I have ever seen :) hopefully after the Covid-19 situation I will fulfill my dream of coming here for a few days, make a couple of friends and experience the culture in real life.

Everybody here goes through snow like it's not even there. If this was here in Washington there'd be cars in the ditch every 20 feet.
@mathewvanostin71183 жыл бұрын
They have very huge budget for managing snow. Washington winter compared to Nuuk. Or Montreal Toronto. Is a loot shorter and sweeter. There is like 30 times less snow. So the city dont invest a loot in snow management field
@mathewvanostin71183 жыл бұрын
In Montreal for example. Usualy snow season start at mid november and finish at mid april In washington usualy it start by mid december. And end by early march. And very often there is winter weeks without snow in washington. Which is a impossible thing in Montreal. Unless of a rare heat wave. All weeks of december january february early march is snowy

What the city is powered by a power generator or a combined heat and power plant?
@omu76 Жыл бұрын
It’s hydropower, there’s a dam ca. 50 km south of city, across some fiords. Look up “Buksefjorden” on youtube.

There are no ferrys to Greenland - see e.g. guidetogreenland.com/how-to-get-to-greenland/ The most north I know of, where you can go by ferry, is Iceland. (Besides driving up to Norway)
