I've been to Jamaica a couple of times and plan to go back again. I have never stayed at a resort and never wanted to although i hear they're nice. I always want to experience the real country. From my experience with the people, what I realised is how hard working they 'are. Especially the ones who farm and live in the country, which is where i stayed. Old, young, everybody worked hard every single day. From sun up to sun down. Some may not have a lot of money but they live in a paradise where they can grow amazing things. I love how many live off the land because they're blessed to be from a place where they can do that. And they must feel proud to enjoy the fruits of their labour. I could stay at a resort but I'm not. Back to the country i go among the farmers who always bless me with the food that they grow. And the fruit. OMG!!!! I love the countryside in Jamaica.

The first time I landed in Mobay in 89, we came in below the runway, gunned it at the last second, dropped like a rock, air brakes full on, reversethrust, stopped on a dime. A little whiplash , but hey, we're here. My first flight ever!

When does the auto pilot come off?
@Cl4rendon8 жыл бұрын
Listen to the signal sound at 1:48
@ramyg50378 жыл бұрын
I should have rephrased my question correctly. - At what point of the air travel does the pilot decide to turn off the auto pilot? Or what factor decides when the auto pilot would be turned off. In car cruise controls - the cruise control is turned off as soon as the driver hits the brake or manually turns off the cruise control.
@ZaBaHD8 жыл бұрын
can be turned off when they like , shouldn't be turned off if can't see runway
@EggiTheShadow7 жыл бұрын
Usually there's a button on the stick or yoke to turn it off, the autopilot switch can also be tripped if you put enough pressure either forward or backward on the control stick (not entirely sure about aileron movement though), that's why in very heavy winds or maybe if there's a sudden gust of wind it can turn off the autopilot. Airliners will manually do the takeoff and landing and the rest of the way will fly on autopilot although each airline have different SOP's so every airline will have their own variation, one pilot may tell you one thing although another pilot in another airline may tell you another, both are right its just different companies like to do things differently

How awful it must be to pilot such a large aircraft with a joystick and left hand.
@timlake7708 жыл бұрын
Even if it was a yoke, he would be using his left hand. Right hand is on the throttle.
@faizram1778 жыл бұрын
The A321 isn't a large aircraft when you compare it to an A380, which also uses a joystick.
@Moss2358 жыл бұрын
haha, but it is a proven method which most airbus pilots know how to use
@angelog41508 жыл бұрын
Even better if you're left handed like me. I learned how to use my right hand on joysticks for flight sims and I'm pretty sure that right handed pilots would have an easy time learning how to use their left hand.

Looked like an ILS to me plus whats with the chick nagging him in the background?
@flyq40048 жыл бұрын
its not a ILS its a non precision approach VOR or RNAV to rwy 07 and they usually break off the DME arc once the field is in sight saves time and fuel like they did in this video, i dont think there is even a ILS at Sangster ... that being said the airbus can pretty much make anything look like a ILS it can build its own localizer and glide slope basically lol

You don´t perform a visual approach with autopilot (down to 500ft) and flight director´s ON... This video shows a proper GPS approach, not a visual one! You should correct it JustPlanes. Plus these Air Canada guys don´t enjoy the Airbus if they fly it like this all the time.
