Very good work & awesome tutorial. You should go for the cats lair from thundercats. The 80's cartoon not the new thundercats roar, or something transformer like?

Seeing the roof at 7:56 is giving me ideas for cute little goblin tanks! Just a tiled cone, with a single gun sticking out the front. Perhaps it doesnt even have treads, and the goblins hiding underneath just lift and shuffle around with it 😂

Very cool, like the ideas for the platforms and also the tips you give others around mistakes not to try at home. The way you attached the windmill sails with the metal rod had me thinking it would have been cool to use a longer rod and keep the 'nose' piece separate so that once attached the sails could be rotated.

I Think you got the platforms right. I've been studying Windmills for my own build, they very rarely have a platform near the sails the nearest they come is just slightly to the side. I'm basing my design on several different windmills from horror movies the first two are from Frankenstein 1931 and the Bride of Frankenstein 1935 ( My great uncle was the Director of these movies) The one from Brides of Dracula 1962 and Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow 1999 ( this is actually a partial copy of the Brides of Dracula one) and Finally Van Helsing 2004 ( this one was the biggest of the bunch, it's the size idea I'm pinching it's going to be big!) I'm hoping to have the curving sides and bat winged sails too, So fare I've got stage one almost done but it has been fighting me all the way. my mistak choose one damn design and stick with it! but I'm committed now.

I should have thought to look at the Frankenstein films for reference. I let myself down lol
@andytate56704 жыл бұрын
@@FrankyDCrafter the problem is you can look at too much and you see several things you want to do and then you discover on your build that one look doesn't work with another I looked at all four of those movies for reference and in some cases I managed to track down the artwork for those ideas ( some with ideas they rejected!) Seriously it can drive you mad. next time I will pick one design and add my own ideas . I'm two weeks into this project now,. I tried the batwing sails but I felt that they didn't look right, they were too obvious, What kindof Flower miller would put batwings at the end of the sails ( a severely twisted one who wouldn't sell much flour) so in the end I went with a sort of gothic cross shape with a point at each end I checked on line and some mills did have these 'm looking at my plat form at the moment and I may be removing that for some thing better.

I know, I was looking at a dragon quest 11 mill. The stone work on the reference was a lot smaller so it was a bit awkward because of my brick choice.
