I’m a straight woman. I realised about women hatred in primary school when nobody wanted to pick girls for teams, and how they treated more “feminine” boys. Long live the flamboyants!!!!! Femininity is right, femininity is correct! Thank u for having that conversation, we are in this together 💗
@spa-peggymeatballs48619 ай бұрын
I have a 3 yr old little boy who sometimes wants his nails painted and wants to wear an Elsa dress occasionally (and we oblige, of course!). He told me yesterday he wants his ears pierced (didn’t oblige that one yet, lol). He also loves trucks and dinosaurs. Sometimes it hurts my heart to think about whether the world will figuratively beat that other side out of him. School can be hard and mean. I so hope he doesn’t lose that curiosity to explore all the sides of himself. So many little boys get punished for wearing a princess dress. I live in a community with dads that brag about berating their sons for playing with Barbie’s. My oldest daughter is dealing with the repercussions of (very) toxic masculinity right now while she’s starting to talk to boys and deal with the fact that the world has told these boys that they’re only manly if they’re playing and lying to every girl they meet. It breaks my heart. As a woman with a girls and a boy- it’s unfair to them ALL.

Are you seriously acting like you actually WANTED to be on the teams to begin with?? You're saying you *didn't* enjoy hanging out on sidelines with the flamboyants, playing with make-up & scrolling through social media?? You femininity wasn't "hated," most other kids knew you wouldn't want to play in a very masculine physical activity anyway and you would've RATHER been hanging out with the 'flamboyants.' If a PR trip was advertising a new sunscreen, I'd have it written into the contract that the influencers had to wear the bronzing sunscreen and follow it's instructions, eg apply and wait 20 minutes before going into the sun, reapply every 2-4 hours depending on whether it is waterproof or not. Also, doing Slip, Slop, Slap so they are being sun smart. Kosas would have won brownie points for actually promoting sun awareness and responsibly being in the sun. In Australia, we are taught this from the start of schooling because our sun is brutal on skin.
@Teneal99 ай бұрын
So true, Eleanor! I always have those "Slip, Slop, Slap" jingles running through my head when I put on sunscreen even now haha. In Australia, applying SPF is a necessary public service announcement and should totally be provided to visitors as they touch down here. Might be able to avoid the tourist lobsters then 😅

@@Teneal9 I do ponder what education is given to tourists as they enter Australia. It is a known issue amongst pharmacies in beach tourist areas that their strongly worded recommendations of sunscreen instead of tanning oil will be ignored, followed by customer returning with second or third degree burns seeking relief. The aloe vera and sorbolene sales in these areas are fuelled by stupidity. The sun will kill before our animals will (but still don't mess with our animals 🤣).

I found the whole ' people hate femininity' convo so interesting. It's the first time I'd thought of it that way. For years I've argued that things should not be classified as masculine or feminine. I'm a straight cis female, but I love cars and many other typically masculine things, but I also work in beauty and look very feminine. Noone should be boxed into masculine or feminine because of the things they enjoy or identify with. A straight cis man should be able to wear make up if he wants to without it being questioned. So I loved hearing your take as I think its another take on the same underlying issue.

For me, the most telling thing about the Kosas sunscreen is that I can't see any retailers stocking it in Australia yet. Australia has some of the highest standards for sunscreen in the world because of how harsh the sun is here and the fact that we have the worlds highest rates of skin cancer. This means that it's a shit sunscreen. Not surprised people got burnt on that trip

Only the pictures of the models can be voted on by the judges. No one knows who did the make up. They could do all the models to see a clear winner. We had a female Queen and a Female Priminister but I bet somewhere in the world, in some dark n sticky comedy club there's a man doing the old "Can you imagine a female President on her period with her finger hovering over the nuke button, mascara running down her cheeks and red wine stains on her teeth! No sir, I don't trust nothin that bleeds for a week n don't die!" Now if Johnny had said that?! 😅

Kevin & Johnny, I hope you protect your mental peace & health. Dont pay mind to what random people judge for 10 seconds. You have real supporters here who are interested in having mind oepning conversations with you. Stay strong & grounded💖✨

I’m sitting here, 2 weeks away from an exam that I feel like I’m going to have to delay (which I’m gonna get charged $200 for), cramping, bleeding, an emotional mess, and you guys are my comfort podcasters. I just feel so seen and heard, yet also learn so much every time ❤ you guys are amazing

As a guy who's just getting into skincare and makeup, I just wanted to say I appreciate everything you do SO MUCH. Your content is entertaining, informative, and hilarious! I find myself relating to a lot of what you have to say. I look forward to each new episode!!

I just wanna say that I really appreciate your integrity Johnny! I know it has to suck to turn down brand deals when you could be making so much more money but it's so nice that I finally found someone online that I can trust with recommendations. You deserve you much more recognition than you get. I hope you know your fans love and appreciate you so much!

SCREAMING CRYING THRROOWWWWIINNNGGG UP FOR THE PATREON! I commented asking for it a few videos back and I'm SCREAMING that y'all are actually doing it. I'll literally listen to you guys talk shit for hours but it would be so cool to see more MUA experience content! I'm new to freelancing ( worked in store for ages) and am starting up my kit and it would be cool if you guys did a freelancing kit video and talk about the products you'd have/ tips on saving space etc. I currently have the RCMA foundation palette but would love to hear if you guys have any other MUA palette recommendations for complexion stuff. And just generally content about MUA stuff like tips, how you guys deal with people trying to take advantage of your service and ask for more than they paid for etc. THANK YOU THANK YOU AGAIN IM UNBELIEVABLY EXCITED

I clearly missed all the Mikayla tea, esp bc the last i heard here y'all had a positive relationship. But happy to be back and on that note: i find all the new launches super overwhelming esp as someone with medium dark skin, its hard to figure out which stuff to skip entirely. So. Content idea. You review what a lucky subscriber already has/uses and what issues they might having and then make recs as to what they should replace or try! Love the pod and your honesty!❤

30 seconds in an Johnny says "power grip douche." 😂 Having grown up in the 70's and 80's, when douche commercials used to be on TV regularly, an image of what that commercial would look like, immediately popped in my head and now I have a whole ad playing my head. 😂

I think tutorials are great… especially ones like balancing your brows.. how to over line your lips properly, what colors look the best on which undertones etc. You both have done the makeup on so many people with every shape of face that I think that knowledge is worth its weight in gold.

47:58 Johnny: we’d love to see a stitch in here of BTS footage of you and Kevin, opening the pallet behind the scenes! It could be down and dirty with a phone, doesn’t have to be super high-tech, but to get that authentic reaction for 30 seconds before talking about it longform on the pod could be really fun!

I usually listen to/watch these on Spotify with my daughter, but I had to jump over here to comment! My 13yo daughter has Kevins exact hairstyle and it does that amazing pouf naturally. But she always tries to flatten it down a bit because she thinks her friends will think it (and she) is too much. Seeing how FABULOUS Kevin looks made her proud of her hair and I can't tell you what a relief that is for me as a mom. Obviously a teenager doesn't listen when her mother says she is beautiful, but when she gets to be twinsies with an absolute icon it boosts her like nothing else. So just... Thank you for being you.❤️❤️❤️❤️ XOXO from Finland 😘
