There is no right way to process how you are feeling. I know you may be feeling ashamed, depressed, angry, or just alone. I truly do get messages all the time from people spending thousands of dollars or people who study for MONTHS to find out they failed. You are not alone. People just do not talk about it as much! If this is you, it is okay. I am proud that you clicked this video because it tells me that you want to keep trying! You have already surpassed so many others by not only being accepted into Nursing School but graduating! You should be proud of the moves you have made! The NCLEX can be difficult, but you now have an advantage! You know what it looks like and how to study the next time around! I KNOW YOU ARE SMART ENOUGH TO PASS! Just keep practicing NCLEX-style questions as if you were the SAFE nurse in that situation! YOU CAN DO THIS! The fact that you are not giving up, just proves how amazing of a nurse you will be one day!
2️⃣ Read this if you failed a Nursing Exam:
It always hurt when you fail a Nursing Exam. I remember completing failing my first big Nursing Exam in Fundamentals and feeling like I should reconsider career paths. But guess what? WE ALL FAIL AT SOME POINT! There is not one person I know that has not failed at a skills checkoff, exam, midterm paper, or presentation in their Nursing program. It happens! Sometimes we need to cry it out, take an hour or even the full day off, and restart fresh! I used to reorganize my room and that is how I would push the "reset button" on life. My biggest tip is to try to find the answer for the question you got wrong, because some questions on pop quizzes or Mini Exams can end up on the Final!

Passed my Nclex on first try 08/30/24 May God Bless you ! I used mark k- lecture 12 Uworld and videos; nexus nursing and definitely Beautiful nursing helped me through school and at the last minute I found her QR code in the back of the book. I listened a day before my exam. Listen to her ❤️ and always follow ur first mind unless you really know for sure u need to make another selection. Take your time. Relax . Don’t drink too much caffeine. You got this! You can do this. Positive talk. I had no dosage calculation on my Nclex and it stopped at 85- I thought like - ohhh my but -had to give positive self talk- by the Grace of God I passed.

LPN program is no joke. My teachers that got their LPN/BSN/MSN said that LPN was the hardest out of all of them to get through and obviously you guys made all made it, so don't doubt yourselves. I used ATI/Nexus Nursing along with the knowledge I already knew. I passed my NCLEX in 75 questions my first try. My best advice is do what works for you (what makes sense for you when studying) and not what everyone else is doing or is trending..

Therapeutic questions are “easy” for me but I feel like they don’t make sense. Like the example, the patient already told you that they’re scared yet the answer is “tell me how you feel?”. They already told you that they’re scared. Wouldn’t they perceive you as not listening to them when you’re asking them basically to repeat themselves?

You always want to keep the conversation open to get more information from the patient. “Tell me how you feel” or even “tell me why you feel scared” are considered open ended according to my professor. I struggled with that in the beginning too, but just always pick one that sounds like that.

I good way to think about the "assess unless in distress" issue is to look at statements like "Patient is in respiratory distress" and realize that respiratory distress is your assessment. That is all you need to know to know you should act.

LPN here and in Michigan we can start IV’s, do IV push meds, and hang bags. The only things we can’t do are blood products and titration. Also it isn’t helpful when saying the nurse should be doing such and such when delegating to an LPN bc we are nurses too. Most places do not work in team nurse settings. The RN’s and I have our own sets daily and there is no difference in the acuity in the ED.
