The MDA Labor Day Telethon was an enchanting yearly variety show that ran for half a century. Hosted for many years by Jerry Lewis, the telethon featured top stars from the world of music, comedy, and Broadway and was like no other show on earth.

I loved seeing Hugh Jackman's very modern looking version of this performance, the mug dance was mesmerizing - and this older cast does it justice, too...whoever choreographed this dance was a genius, it's so fun, and a little different! But looks so challenging to have nailed down.

Almost all of the new songs featured lyrics by Tim Rice. The sole exception was “Human Again” which was originally intended for use in the original 1991 animated film. Unfortunately, they were unable to find a way for the story elements to work. After the song appeared in the stage musical, the original animation team decided to reincorporate the song into the film.

I’ve recently seen the brand new 2021 Disney production of Beauty and the Beast touring the UK and compared to this the new production is night and day better. Still got the mug clicks but better! This song runs to about 6 or 7 minutes I would say, includes some great trickery as well.
