My advance band plays grade 3, 4, and sometimes 5 music. For my jazz ensemble, I think we play grade 2 and 3 music. And my community band plays 3 1/2, 4, and 5 music. Because I requested for my community director a grade 3 song, and he said it would be too easy for our band. What's odd is that I play sax in my community band and jazz ensemble, and clarinet in advanced band. Even though I like clarinet more.

At least your school has a symphonic band. In a school with 1,700 students, our band only had 23 members for our spring concert. While I can play grade 4/5 music in community band and honor bands, I'm stuck playing 1.5/2 songs at school.

so we're playing this for our school production of beauty and the beast, but there's one slight issue; no one in my school's band can play their instrument except for people in the jazz ensemble (this includes myself) and the graduating students. Even worse is that only the jazz ensemble can play with dynamics, follow the conductor during ritardandoes or even play the right notes
