1. Wet the sponge as you normally would 2. With the water still running, use a bar of soap of your choice and rub your sponge against the soap 3. Once your sponge looks physically clean, squeeze the water and soap out of your sponge until the bubbles are gone/water runs clear 4. Set aside to dry

I do this when ever I wash my hair. I just take the sponge into the shower with me and while I let my conditioner set I wash my sponges with a bar of soap because it super fast. It takes me about 2 mins per sponge and my conditioner has to go sit for 5 to 10 mins so it times out perfectly.

cleaning my beauty blender at the same time I shower, makes me feel less guilty of using too much water..
@blueberrycowboy4 жыл бұрын
this is actually such a good idea!
@dominipsabe4 жыл бұрын
This is actually more wasteful, since shower heads have a larger flow of water per second. You could try using a small trickle of water from the sink or filling a small bowl with water at a time and seeing how many rinses it takes. In conclusion, beauty blenders are quite difficult to thouroughly clean out and dissinfect, it's ability to retain moisture makes it a very easy place for bacterial/fungal growth even with this cleaning method. There are better alternatives such as: a flat thin sponge (a little easier to clean and dry), a silicone sponge, a velvet (textile) puff, or a brush.

I've tried the hack where you fill a bowl with dish soap , water and a little bit of olive oil. Dump your beauty blender in it and microwave for a minute to 2 mins. The hot water to me kills the bacteria and softens the makeup buildup. The olive oil also helps with breaking up the foundation in the beauty blender. Let the water cool down before you squeeze out the soap and run it under water

I do this, too, and then after I've rinsed all the bar soap out, I'll work a dime-sized amount of baby shampoo into them just to give them a fresher scent.

I put mine in a delicates bag and throw them in the washing machine with my clothes, they come out sparkling everytime :D Xxx
@ichigochan41737 жыл бұрын
Peeriefairy but you use detergent to clean your clothes. and you use beauty blenders on your face
@PeerieFairy7 жыл бұрын
Eula Mae Carla Añonuevo and you wear your clothes on your skin. The washing machine rinses them. I also put them in the tumble dryer 😂 They come out perfect! Also...soap is detergent. Honestly it does work!
@ichigochan41737 жыл бұрын
Peeriefairy hahaha. soap and detergent are not the same thing. 😂
@PeerieFairy7 жыл бұрын
Haha, yes, I am aware! :D But I wouldn't wash my towel in soap just because I was going to use it on my face ;) Honestly, I'm not crazy, put them through a boil wash and they are like brand new! The washing machine rinses so many times in the 2 hrs it takes to wash, so there is so much clean water running through it. www.glamour.com/story/how-to-clean-beauty-blender-makeup-sponge

I use a laundry detergent with no dyes or perfumes (like all clear) and put them in a lingerie bag and wash them with a dark load of clothes. Once the washer is done I let them air dry (I never put them in the dryer) and they come out perfect!

Wow! I stopped the video midway to go try this. I didn’t have any Irish Spring so I just used a natural “Peppermint Oil” soap I had and it worked perfectly! It looks brand new and smells so clean. I’ll feel much better using it on my face now. Always wondered how I could remove those stains.

she is not the worst, actually compared to others she doesnt really waste water, if you want them that clean you kinda need that much water, she doesnt let the water run when she doesnt used it

I live in Cape Town. We live with extreme water restrictions. We are limited to 50l per person per day. Her water use actually gave me palpitations. I think I will have to find another way.

Maxine Carli if you are still looking, use a small cup of water thats microwave-proof and drop your blender and a couple pumps of liquid soap in it, then microwave for about 1-1.30 minutes (until the water is pretty hot, be careful). Squeeze out the blender and it should be pretty clean. Mine takes 2 cups (each 200 ml) at 1.20 minutes to be squeaky clean + the almost boiling water kills a lot of bacteria. Just be careful when squeezing out your sponge, the water inside is rly hot.

I'm not saying this doesn't work...but like...she clearly showed that the white sponges stains weren't fully removed by the hand wash method so why didn't she show us how much it helped the stains by using the soap bar??? The white beauty blender could've been a very old one with old stains, and the other ones she could've put foundation on before the video or whatever...
