Anna, I'm OBSESSED with the Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base! I love that it's translucent, so I can wear it under any eye product. It's definitely my HG eye primer. You definitely have to try it Lily!

Outsider opinion: alpha h liquid gold is a super intense treatment and clarins gentle exfoliating toner is a more daily option! They are both amazing!

I really love watching your videos. I love both your channels individually, but your interactions are just so awesome to watch. I really value everything you both say and go to your channels first to see your reviews when looking to invest in my makeup/skincare. Skincare seems to be my big ??? area since its the hardest for me to tell if I really love a product, so any advice in that area is always extra appreciated.

Next time could you do a section perhaps on how to clean your brushes (what with, how often, how to dry them etc) I'm building up quite a collection of brushes now but don't think I'm looking after them properly! For the foundation shade advice, I'd suggest going for the lighter shade if you're relatively fair to medium skinned then bronze it up.. But if you're darker skinned, a foundation even one shade lighter can make you so ashy and grey it's ridiculous, so go for the darker one then lighten it up with powder!

I always get samples of high end foundations before purchasing. (In the States) The people working at the counters/in Sephora are always happy to give me a sample before selling me the product. In fact, in Sephora almost everyone who has helped me tells me that they would prefer customers take home samples of different shades and try them out before buying.

The Hourglass Mineral Veil has polysilicone in it, so it is not completely free of silicone. That is what probably gives it that slick feeling.

A great alternative to the Liz Earle C+P is the nSpa Hot Cloth Polish. It's available from Asda, there's no nasty ingredients and works just as well - I actually prefer it :) x

We are so lucky in the US! Sephora is usually good for samples and all Nordstrom counters have pots to make samples too. :) and we have much more lenient return policies

Can you do this more than once a month? Love the beauty chats! Very informative. I think it would be great if you two would do hits and misses for particular brands. Like best Hourglass products/ones I would not repurchase. You could do MAC, NARS, skincare, etc. This would be very helpful to hear two opinions!

Wow, in the US all you have to do is ask for a sample at the makeup counters and they fill up a little pot just like the one you're holding. I thought it was the same everywhere they sell high-end makeup!

I live the new bourjois happy light foundation haven't stopped issuing it & I have to say Anna you have mad end want the georgio armarni the only thing is I have to wait until I can get I to London to be match properly :-( & Lilly I have to say you look fantastic in this video I think the ysl foundation gives u a fantastic glow to your skin (yep would love this too) I have the rimmel lipstick and it's gorgeous & I couldn't be without my ambient lighting powder in dim! I work in a beauty store, and trust me, we WANT you to sample first before buying the bottle! It wastes your money to try something and not like it, but when you take the big bottle back because you tried it then didn't like it, we lose that money for our store, too. So please don't be shy about samples! Obviously we know when the same people come back and get the same samples of products they've tried before so they don't have to buy it, but if you're genuinely curious, please sample first!!!

The NARS eye primer IS the best. You have to get it Lily! I've got oily hooded eyelids, the NARS one is the only one that actually works n it works with ANY look cos it has no colour no shimmer no nothing, just total brilliance! Haha :)

At the counter I always say I have very sensitive skin that reacts easily to new products (which is true btw) and they are always more than willing to provide a sample!!they can't argue that!:)

I was actually denied a sample from Armani - first time ever that has happened. Im not sure how they expected me to spend almost $70 CND on a foundation when they wouldn't give me a sample, and they wouldn't even apply it to my face, only a quick swatch on the next.
