Hasselt,
capital of Limburg province, Flanders Region, northeastern Belgium. It lies along the Demer River near the Albert Canal, northwest of Liège. For centuries it has been a centre of administration, a market town, and a home of distilleries; the gin called Hasselt Spirit is still produced there. After coal mining began (1917) in the Kempenland (Campine) to the north, Hasselt developed industrially. The rich farmland of the fertile Hesbaye country to the south supports Hasselt’s breweries, flour mills, tanneries, and fertilizer factories.

I used to live above the bank to your left at 4:40! I loved living there, such a beautiful view over the city. I even had a small pool up there, so lovely to lounge on the balcony on a hot day with friends over! It always surprised me how quiet and calm Hasselt is despite there always being people out and about.

naturellement, nous sommes de Limbourg très acquilant mais pas très chaleureux comme en Wallonie. Gardez un peu de distance au début svp. Le Flamand est notre langue respecté ça. Il serai difficile pour vous de nous comprendre. ce n'est pas évident même pour les autres Flamands par ce que notre accent et certains mots sont differrent de la reste de la Flandre.
