I am thankful for this lesson from Sister Yee. I forgave my abusive sister in my heart, but was wondering if I did the right thing by eliminating their abuse from my home. Now I know I did the right thing.

Jesus Christ can heal all infuriating unfairness that comes from being born into a fallen world among a fallen people. Every tear shed, and every wrong committed against us, will be made right through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ the lord, if we are willing to drop our burdens at his feet, repent, and continuously strive to follow Him. This can take time, but if we consistently do these things, we can overcome our weaknesses, and Christ can turn them into strengths.

This was such a powerful talk. I too have dealt with massive hurt and had to learn to forgive and let it go. It will destroy you if you hold unto it. Christ can heal us and I'm grateful for His atonement. Thank you sister for speaking so openly about your journey.

Sister Yee talk, is what my husband and I went through, forgiving family members who hurt us, their cruelty was overwhelming, but forgiving was our healing and it was not right away, but we eventually did and love how the Lord is patient with us. We do not allow them back into our lives even though we forgave what they did to us. It was hard alright, but my savior made it possible! We feel so at peace, joy and happiness. What a healing experience. Love this talk, thank you again Sister Yee. "We cannot judge another's timing" love that... no one can tell you when to heal and how to heal only through Christ.

I am grateful for her talk. I too struggled with emotional hurt from my Dad, with his criticism over the years. I can appreciate the struggle to know that I am important to Father in Heaven and that God really Is a loving Father. In a way, I still struggle with self worth. I hope this message will help me forgive my Earthly Dad and help me move on.

At a hard time in my life, I was betrayed by some people who were close to me. I blocked one of them on social media and tried to move on, but the pain was still there. After two months, I got frustrated and asked myself why I couldn't just move forward from the pain. Because of that thought, several other thoughts crept into my mind that were dark. Sister Yee mentioned that we can't judge another for how slowly they forgive another, and that applies to ourselves too. If you have been hurt, allow yourself the time you need to heal. Continue trying to forgive, but don't beat yourself up if it doesn't happen quickly.

My Bishop mentioned this talk in bearing his testimony. I watched conference but must have been distracted and not listening closely. I’m so grateful he spoke about it because I needed this so much. I need to forgive hurtful comments and actions because I’m pretty sure some of these people are not sorry or just don’t know that I know what was said. I’ve had a very difficult time moving forward. Thank you and bless you Sister Yee for sharing this. I ,too, need a new heart. ❤

Such a beautiful and timely talk. Thank you for the courage to share your adversity and how you healed As a fellow abuse survivor I too have found healing through forgiveness. The atonement of our Savior has helped immensely with the healing process I hope you realize abuse victims do not need permission from their abuser to talk about how the abuse affected us. I would never ask my abusers permission to share my story as they would absolutely say no in order to protect themselves. I choose not to be a silent victim so others can find healing and hope too

That is so true. And I believe healing comes in steps just like the five stages of grief (sadness, anger, denial, barging and acceptance). And only "You and Heavenly Father" can make that happen. And I truly believe that Heavenly Father loves his daughters and sons so much he does not want us to be around abuse because it damages our spirit. We are to forgive and move on just like Jesus did. Bless you...

The part about the warring heart and My Savior is my fathers Savior also. Struck me like a ton of bricks. I have been working very hard at letting go of my warring heart against my mother and step father. This has brought me to a new level. He is in his 90’s now and has regrets. Even though he and I don’t talk he tells my siblings things. I sent this to my mother to ask her to share it with him and tell him I love him! I’m praying this will ease his mind. Maybe call him to repentance through faith in Jesus Christ. I love the gospel. I hope he can love it too. My mom told me he is reading the Book of Mormon I sent them. They are non members. I am a convert of 8 years and I truly believe this testimony may open up an avenue for him for all of us. ❤️ Thank you so much Sister Yee.

I very much agree that everyone needs the atonement. Regardless of the severity of our sins. There was a time, over 15 years ago now, that I was uncomfortably close with destroying my future by increasingly possible actions. Thankfully, I was able to overcome my issue within a year or so. I also understand hearts being changed. Especially when influenced by the Savior. I hope you understand that you didn't have to get your father's permission to share what you did with your story.

I am no longer on the war path. To heal by , the conection the holy Ghost inspiration by others that share a testimony in another testament of Jesus Christ by the life lived on how to be like Jesus Christ , a new heart i have been given. Healing the mind the body follows the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints to the answer we find by thoes that speak the truth to a weakness made strong by gospel principles and to come forward and testify to the world this is the way the light and the truth in Jesus Christ name to be like Jesus and take on his spirit to be with them always as we invoke the God head to share invite love to be like Jesus to , the biggest struggles to the blessings we sow in reaping others to come follow our Savior Jesus Christ to be blessed with them the light within that brings others to peace the mind the body heals and body the mind to come along and partake of others by sharing the gospel , in a wonderful true spiritual momentum that this Sister brings to the table to be filled with the fullness of the restoration of the gospel to reach in and pull forward those that need to center a meridian and put the natural man off and be at peace and heal by strength to receive the comfort in the safety we build to ready one more to all to be One in this life , and forgive and repent to be forgiven to a covenant eternity and heal time.

My fiancé has been sexually assaulted, multiple times, while having terminal brain cancer by an old friend. I will never, ever be able to forgive the 'man' that did those terrible things to her. I struggle with thoughts of retaliation, revenge and handling him myself because he has won and beaten every legal battle that has come from the horrid things he's done to her. I HATE him. How do I overcome this? These dark thoughts that consume me? How do I forgive him? I am so confused and conflicted inside, I need help. Please help me. These negative thoughts and even desires are consuming me and my hatred of him is becoming even stronger because of the love that I have for her. 😭

Brad, we're sorry to hear about your anger and hurt because of how someone treated your fiancé. Visit abuse.churchofjesuschrist.org for information about help and healing from abuse. We also understand that it can be very hard to forgive people who have hurt us and those we love, but God promises that when we forgive others, He will forgive us of our wrongdoings and bring us peace. In addition, when we forgive others, we avoid further pain, heal our spirits and follow the example of Jesus Christ. Just because an assailant /abuser appears to get away with something in this temporary world rules by Satan, does not mean they will continue to get away with it in the next eternal world rules by the one true God. To forgive someone (to me) is allowing justice to be served by the one perfected to judge. Jesus. It is sure that we will all be resurrected and live eternal, but it is not assured our eternal life will be with Heaven Father and Jesus. Abusers will be accountable. Holding on to hate, especially for something not done to you, but to someone else (your fiance) is keeping the abusers sin active in your lives. I had to seek to want to give up on earthly justice. I just wanted justice at some point and for the Lord to replace what I needed to become whole again... And I sought peace in my heart be ause the truemoil was too much to feel anymore. 💜
