Yeah she was naive about opening a business, but she realized it wasn’t for her quickly and moved on instead of letting it drain her life and money. So good for her. No harm in trying something as long as you are willing to admit it isn’t working.

My sis was a party planner and did a spa themed party for a child. It was awesome! So yeah, this is a great idea!
@Oncearanger889 ай бұрын
It works. I’ve owned the kids theme salon for 20 years. However, what a lot of new business owners in the salon industry does it take to consideration is January February, and March are your slowest months. So then they close up Shop because they don’t see a profit in those three months and they don’t notice save up for those three months because you’re going to take a hit. A lot of salon owners don’t do their research or a lot of them are fresh out of school and think that they could just open up a salon because they have the money.

$35K to start a new business? She got in cheap! And how could you NOT know how hard it is to open a small business, to say nothing of keeping it alive after 2-3 years? You sink your fortune and your life into it. You put in LONG hours. You have to do practically everything yourself. You might not turn a profit for a long time. If you aren't motivated, forget it. And even if you do everything right, there's a large chance it'll fail. I've worked at enough small businesses to understand that.

She: puts 35k in and sells for 38k, then gets employed by her own business AND pockets the revenues from the birthday parties. Hubby cons the buyer into making cash in hand payments and then they abuse the legal system to sue the buyer-boss to make them pay twice. IMO this was planned, they are conmen, and probably ran similar schemes before. They got away very lightly. OTOH the buyer is the perfect victim. He pays more than they put in, and doesn't work or look after the business at all. He oays the previous owner, who wanted to get rid of it, to run it. He obviously handed her the keys and lost control of what was going on in his own business with her running weekend gigs without him knowing. They clearly weren't interested in controlling the business, expected the employees to run everyrhing, and deliver tje proceeds to them without them having to move a finger. No business person or investor does rhat. It's like giving your bank all your pass words because you can't be bothered. Amd then, they make cash payments without receipt towards the loan. That's utterly stupid, unless they are tax fraudsters and have money hidden from the IRS. How would he do his tax returns without receipts?
