You know, they made out like Frenchie was bad at beauty school, like her accidentally dying her hair pink was an example of how she just didn't have what it takes to do the job, but I'm looking at the pink hair she's sporting and thinking, that color is flawless, nice, vivid, even color, not streaky or faded or damaged. I know it's just a wig they had the actress wear but if they were trying to make Frenchie look bad at coloring hair they should have gotten her a worse looking wig because if you were to judge the color job on the wig objectively it's a good job just not the color she wanted- which while important is a simple mistake to make and correct in future uses meaning she didn't know her chemicals well enough but she definitely had the technique down.
@HauntedMask249 жыл бұрын
I agree completely, but back in the 50's it was uncommon for a woman to have pink hair, she most likely would have been ridiculed for having her hair look like that.

What's the nature of the molecule in your profile picture? Is it used in cosmetics?
@MsPinkBismuth8 жыл бұрын
Oh no, that's the chemical structure of bismuth subsalicylate- commonly known as Pink Bismuth brand name Pepto Bismol- I have a stomach condition and fondness for science so it became my go to avatar/username. Funnily enough however Bismuth Subsalicylate can hydrolyze into Bismuth Oxychloride which is in fact use in mineral wear cosmetics, so I suppose technically a from of what's in my signature is in fact used in cosmetics, sort of.

FUN FACT: every single person dancing in this scene said this was the absolute hardest part to film because of the glass like stairs and their heels being slippery. If you notice each girl is carefully walking to dance slowly. 😂 they were scared to bump one another and fall. They filmed it twice and each girl was on one another to stay on point to get it over with.

My vote for the very BEST staging of the various songs in the movie version of Grease. Frankie Avalon was just the right mix of older man but still a heartthrob, and Frenchy's expressions with that oh--so-lively face are hysterical. I love this classic. Frankie's voice is so calm and soothing. This whole scene is beautifully done, like the movie. As for the Glee version, I liked it too! I'm a old school gal myself but some Glee songs are actually pretty good. The actors aren't trying to replace the originals, it's more like a tribute and idolizing the original singers. I mean, what more better promotion tool is there than having those actors introducing the roots of their covered songs to the new generation?

"go back to school woman. you're too stupid to do what you dream" another horrible message for a great movie haha
@sydneyday918110 жыл бұрын
"you've got the dream but not the drive" she doesn't want to put in the work to make her dream come true, which isn't a great thing. Also the lines "Well at least you could have taken time, to wash and clean your clothes up, After spending all that dough to have the doctor fix your nose up!" she claims to be all image but really doesn't put that much effort into it, which is sad because she could be she is clearly inspired by it (as she goes back to school to study chemistry to make her own stuff) but she just couldn't cut it as a stylist. There are some not great messages in this movie, but the music's still catchy.

this is better than how they sang it on grease: live. i fuckin hate how on the live one, they tried to hard with the falsettos and didnt have passion or charisma like frankie avalon
