that's great! I discovered ASMR when doing some music therapy research. they're really the same. or rather music is a type of ASMR. sometimes when I explain it to people this way, they're more accepting...sometimes they just think it's weird. it has the same phenomenon in the brain.

I very much like how there is so much effort put in to keeping things very low key and to not break immersion. Case in point is when the soap wasn't easily sliding back into the box...instead of jamming it back in, you did some nice editing, making it seamless instead of possibly jarring. I've noticed during the course of the hundreds of ASMR videos that I've watched, that I get far more tingles if I'm actively watching/listening to the video, as opposed to having it on in the background. I don't know if it's the active attention or the visual aspect of it, but you don't even have to be doing anything! I got tingles just when I directed my attention to your hands on the box, as opposed to the news I was reading on my smartphone. ASMR is so interesting....

I also do not sleep during them but watch and calm down, or help panic and anxiety. we recently had a bedbug outbreak in my building with 20 stories. I've just recently fallen down the ASMR rabbit hole (within the last few months), and am amazed at how much it helps with my anxiety, depression, and PTSD. When I feel myself getting stressed at work or wound up, having one of these on in the background really makes me feel calm and centered (and vaguely sleepy). Maria is my favorite - so gentle and caring, and really makes me feel "mothered" in a way that helps me so much. I've never really felt the "tingles", but do get a bit of a fuzzy feeling in my head (which I'm guessing is pretty close). There was something about the "putting things in a bag for you" part of this video that really got to me (in a good way), and really made me feel cared for and loved. I know it's not real, but someone making an effort / seeking out things they think you'd like is something I've always wanted from someone else. So thank you (in tears now, fun!), so much, for all that you do, and all of the effort and time you put into making these for us. You are helping so many people, every day.

I love your hand movements and tapping noises. You have an even, smooth flow of your hands and I get so many tingles when your trace things with your hands. There's something about the tracing of object that triggers the tingles. It's truly relaxing. I truly appreciate the light tapping noises you do. It's not a loud, heavy sound, but just enough to relax you. Instead of counting sheep, I watch your videos and POOF! I fall asleep!

Growing up, I always wondered why I could "feel" music... or, rather, why everyone else couldn't. Certain effects would cause my scalp to tingle or shivers to run up my spine, and I always thought I was weird. After bumping into one of your videos one night though, and seeing how the effect could be created deliberately (in addition to the millions of views), some research was in order. Thanks to your video, I have discovered that I'm most likely what is referred to as a "highly sensitive person," meaning that I'm genetically coded to respond more quickly to external stimuli than most. Additionally, this links directly to other issues such as social anxiety and restlessness. So, in a way, the first ASMR video I watched (one of yours) helped me make some life-changing discoveries about myself and enabled me to ask the right questions of the right people to make life more awesome. Thank you so much, and please, keep it up!

Hey Maria! You are the best asmrer there is, I've tried listening to others but you still stay as my number one. I've followed you since you did the first hair brushing video. The moment I found that video I felt like the one time at third grade in class, listening to a teacher, relaxed and kind of soft and tingly. Maria, my Fiancé is a horrible snorer. He has Sleep Apnea, for the 4 years we have been together only your videos at night with headphones on I can sleep through his thunderous snoring LOL I can still feel the vibrations of his snores though :( cant win them all. Your videos have given me the chance to get solid sleep regardless. Thanks!
