It’s been 7 months since you posted this and I first listened to it, but sometimes I just have an intense inner need for Bach. It’s like he hits one of my internal reset buttons. But then so does Vierne. lol Thank you for doing so much to restore my soul this afternoon. It’s been a few rough days. You are reliably, as always, a blessing.

Absolutely amazing. Thank you to all those professional organists who are an inspiration to all of us. The last piece "BWV 478 come sweetest death, come blessed rest and take my hand and gently lead me on", was my first piece I played on the beautiful Chichester Cathedral organ under the guidance of organist Timothy Ravalde. It was also the first time ever in my life that I played a real pipe organ and a cathedral organ at that. Thank you Richard and BIS.

Awesome! Bach sure knew how to squeeze the juice out of an organ. I can only imagine the feeling of being able to control a machine the size of a building with a few small levers and making such incredible music.

People.admired.J.S.Bach's.playing. To which he.replied something like; "Nothing to it. You simply move your fingers and your feet to the right places at the right times and.the.organ plays itself."

Bach could also.squeeze the juice out a violin. You look at his partitas and sonatas for unacompanied violin and you can see that only someone who had an intimate knowledge of the violin could.compose such works.

"Organ music - the mighty power of sound" - In the world of music, there is hardly anything that can touch the senses as deeply as majestic organ music. The organ, often referred to as the "queen of instruments", has an incomparable power that resonates in its waves of sound. With its imposing pipes, brought to life by skilled organists, the organ creates an atmosphere that transports us to another world. The impressive presence and diverse sound possibilities of the organ make it the ideal choice for the performance of both sacred and secular music. In churches, it lends a sublime aura to liturgical celebrations, while in concert halls and theaters it impresses audiences with its monumental sounds. Organ music requires not only virtuoso skills, but also a deeply emotional interpretation. Its deep basses and high trebles can express a wide range of feelings, from solemn joy to poignant sadness. This musical gem attracts people from all over the world and proves time and time again that it has a timeless and transformative power. In a hectic world where we are often overwhelmed by the tide of everyday life, organ music reminds us that there is an incomparable power in silence and music that touches our souls and transports us to a world of beauty and contemplation. Experience the majestic power of organ music and let yourself be enchanted by its sounds. GvL - SINGER DR. B... - VIENNA - JAN 21 - 2024

I start thinking....how would I think when I try to find a job like a organist.... More stops - better pipeorgan....No would be other things to check up to, but more stops give better chance to make the music like you will have it. And....what about the education in to to be a organist? What are you learning more than just playing? You would learn a lot of all different parts of the organ and even about all different stops.....And yes, I will listen and enjoy this video later.

So, I wondered. How do I take in this Bach compilation? I had worked hard in the garden all day, dinner was now done but the evening chores, the dishes, the floor, aching limbs from the garden, perhaps a long bath, a glass of fine Australian Shiraz? I would need to navigate through various sound systems and screens. I would be listening rather than watching mostly. While to a fair extent I was familiar with the Bach works, the challenge I set myself, given I was was flying mostly blindfolded as I flipped about undertaking my chores and after all, didn't Richard suggest this was background Bach, I wanted to know was WHO is playing WHAT and is this a LIVE or VIRTUAL organ. Thus far, this is yet another fine BIS compilation, wonderful performances, beautifully recorded and produced. Now for my bath, more Bach and that glass of Australian Shiraz. Will my review change? Thank you again Richard
