You don't have to wait till synthetic hair is dry to take out the rollers. All you have to do is make sure it is cooled to lock the hair in place. To do this you can submerge it in cold water for another three minutes, then you take the rollers out and the curls are in place :-)

Ok for everyone who thinks this won't work and r afraid of it not working i watched this and I did it to my wig (synthetic) about 5 hours ago. I took my straight wig and did 7 cornrows on it. I set it in boiling water for about 5 minutes I took it out patted it dry waited an hour blow dried it and took it out of the cornrows and it gave the straight hair this beachy curly wavy look I didn't wait long to take it out and it still turned out to be a defined wavy curl. It is a natural look. When I cornrowed the hair I didn't do it really tight Or really loose, it still turned out nicely.

Well done! Better explanation than from a professional. I have a clip-on curly ponytail and I wonder if putting the clip in boiling water may wreck it. Also is it the boiling water that makes the shine come back?

I usually take the rollers out while wet and putting leave in conditioner on the hair so it won't get dry or frizzy after a while.

Your wig looks awesome! You look great with curls! My daughter's Irish dance wig is already curly, on the curls that pull out over time and get sort of frizzy from the bobby pinning- do you think we can reset them doing this with your method with the perm rods? Also would you know what the stuff is that they put on these curls that makes them sort of crispy straight from the factory? Sorry I know the video has been put awhile but we are searching for any help we can get.
