Yep, my mother gave me the same talk, but with a little different twist. Kids shouldn't lie to their parents because God is watching. But it is ok for parents to lie to their children because that doesn't matter to God or anyone else.

No. In the rest of this scene , Beaver pointed out his dad lied to Fred Rutherford. Saying he had something to do when Fred offered a invitation for them. But June said, she was going to correct that . She made Ward call up Fred and said plans were cancelled and they could accept Freds invitation.

@@PatV-j3f When I pointed out to my parents that they had lied, not only did they deny it, but I got a spanking or a slap across the face. Again, reinforcing the rule that adults can lie, but children can't.
