Thank you. I’ve being buying several bps knives, and now I’m going to order both of these. Love the steel and walnut handles. So easy to maintain. As always,a great review

Not only a great review but, you are quite the cinematographer. I like the lake and large white pine in the background.

Hi Mark, these look like good knives that even someone inexperienced with using knives could easily and safely use.

Absolutely. Plus, they are good knives to learn to sharpen with. Thanks for commenting

I've had a couple Beavercraft/BPS knives. The sheaths are awesome, but the knives felt cheaply made. I just purchased Beavercraft for my son w/rounded tip. The quality of his $35 knife seemed better and the ergos (like these handles) is great. Now, I'm trying to choose between one of these two. This video is very helpful.

They are definitely a budget knife but a high-value one. I like that I can modify them without fear or ruining them. Thanks for commenting

Mark, as you may recall, I make my own knives. I just ordered the Dune for a few reasons. Your review covers everything I need to know. The purchase supports Ukraine. And ... those are such good looking knives. I had to start the process to find out what the shipping costs - $4.00! Ended up ordering two by mistake. 😆

I think that a few minutes reshaping the but of the tang on the dune to make it more like the Glacier knife would improve it if someone wanted a larger blade, but the Glacier looked fine to me. while looking at there site this one caught my eye BSH Kid - Kid-Safe Knife for Outdoor Activities $33.00. also this one C1 Kid - Whittling Knife for Kids and Beginners (38) $16.00

Thanks for the detailed review. I have been, hesitantly, eyeballing the BeacerCraft and BPS knives. This gives me more to go on for a decision. Have a great weekend!

Nice review, Mark! Always glad to hear your honest assessments! I'd be curious to see some comparisons of these knives to others in your collection (specifically Moras, as I have a couple of those). I saw your earlier video and know you've got a number of knives yet to be fully reviewed, but I'd be interested in seeing some side-by-side comparisons once you've gotten through all of your backlog.

I have a few more budget knives to test and review. Once I have done that I could make video comparing them all. Thanks for commenting

Mr. Young… how do you think that these knives compare to the BPS Knives manufactured by Serhii and Pavlo Bondarenko in the Ukraine? As an example the BPS ADVENTURER bushcraft knife? The Beaver Craft Knives that you featured here and the BPS Knives seem to be very similar in both design and construction. Could it be that they are made in the same manufacturing facility in Kyiv, Ukraine? Just an observation on my part. I greatly appreciate the effort that you consistently put into providing top content and reviews on your channel.

I now have three knives from BeaverCraft and three from BPS. With the exception of the BSH3 from BeaverCraft, all where the same quality. They are all the same materials with the exception of a couple of the sheaths. Again, the BSH3. They are so similar it would be easy to believe they are made in the same plant. Thanks for commenting

That's what I thought too. Their carving knife sets are also pretty identical to the same knife sets made by a Ukrainian company

Yes, very similar. I have 2 BPS that are excellent.@@MarkYoungBushcraft

G'day Mark, I'm usually of the bigger is better crowd, though I'm with ya on this one, the Glacier's handle ergos make more sense. 1066 at a relatively high Rockwell is interesting, I'm curious as to how it will perform longer term. In any event, cant knock what you get for the moolah. Cheers Duke.

Hi Duke. The steel appears to have a good HT but it is still budget. The Good news is, it is easy to sharpen. Thanks for commenting
@personal.YouTube.channel5 ай бұрын
Not to mention. Some people know this. But I'm going to mention it cuz some people don't. THE TECHNIQUE ! ( Used to make the knife ) Can also affect the steel how it handles. You can have a higher quality carbon steel. (Use certain techniques making it & you'll find that it doesn't perform as well ) Have a lower quality carbon steel. ( Making the same knife with the right techniques ) IT CAN PERFORM EVEN BETTER ! / + They are different qualities of 1066 high carbon steel. As there is in all types of steel. SO ! .... THERE ARE MULTIPLE VARIABLES. In techniques & in quality. That can & will drastically affect The knife capability. AS THE OLD SAYING GOES : You can't always judge a book by its cover. ( MEANING - Just because you think something is one way for whatever reason doesn't mean it is )
