Nice, Seax-Blade scaled down for Outdoor-Usage. Looks great :) Thanks for that detailed review

Yes, I have a couple of much larger seax style blades but this is more versatile for its smaller size. Thanks for commenting

I think this is a super awesome knife and I really like the design. 🤩👍 I've wanted to add a seax styled knife to my collection for a while now, perhaps it's time I did, eh? 🤔 Anyway, excellent video as always. Thanks for sharing, take care my friend and Cheers!

Everyone should have a seax in their collection😉 Thanks for commenting my friend

G'day Mark, I like it, though I'm not really sure why ; ). Maybe because I've never seen such a small seax design before, nor can I remember one with an angled handle. I do dig the scale pattern, a good 14C is fine by me and they sure didn't mess about with the sheath. To be honest; money no object, reckon I'd have one just because it's so unusual/interesting. Cheers Duke.

It looks really interesting, certainly unique. How would you rate it against the skrama 80 from varustaleka?
@MarkYoungBushcraft7 ай бұрын
Hard to say as it is much larger than the Skrama 80 but smaller than the Skrama 200.. I would love if there was a Skrama 120 as it would about this size. Thanks for commenting

Looks a great knife but in the UK we're not allowed to carry a knife that doesn't fold must not lock or have a blade of more than 3.5 inches

Unfortunate. I was under the impression you could take a knife like this to the woods if you could show it was appropriate for the activities you would be doing there. Thanks for commenting

I like to see different designs. The one problem I see nowadays is designs by people that don't actually do what they think their designs will be used for. Many designs are marketing and branding. But the knife itself is useless. This design though different is a very old well tested design. I believe you made the better choice with a full flat. I personally don't like my spine sharp. I carry more then one knife. I bet if they did a convex grind it would be amazing. Scandi is really a one trick pony in my opinion. It's still nice to see people don't something different.

It is funny how Scandi grind knives have become synonymous with bushcraft but I feel a full flat grind or a sabre grind is more versatile. Thanks for commenting

Here’s my thing: I’m really not into overall knife profiles that are so aggressively forward-swept any more. I don’t know why EVERYONE seems to be going for that design all the time, but hey. To each their own, I guess. If anything I prefer a straight or slightly backswept profile, I just can’t find any knife maker/s that entertain that.
@MarkYoungBushcraft7 ай бұрын
Can you give me a knife that most closely represents your thoughts? I will look around and see what I can come up with. I may be able to influence someone to make it. Thanks for commenting
@MrAlexH19917 ай бұрын
@@MarkYoungBushcraft I shoulda phrased that better, that was my bad. Knives like the Mora Garberg/Kansbol are straight profile. So obviously, my Garberg fits the criteria. I’m just having trouble finding anyone who does a knife like the Mora in Magnacut. Or knives similar to the Mora- straight or with a slightly backswept handle.
@MarkYoungBushcraft7 ай бұрын
@@MrAlexH1991 Ahh, I have a better idea of what you mean. I may even have a few ideas as well. Are you looking for something in the same basic size range as the Garberg?
@jimf19647 ай бұрын
It’s awful pretty. Love the scales and stone was and the over all design is cool, but that groove, and the way the handle somehow doesn’t follow that part of the blade that points down kinda hurts my eyes. So you’re saying this design of blade is basically to make it a better carver over a more conventional point? I’m very curious. Like if it’s a good design, then why is it so rare?
@MarkYoungBushcraft7 ай бұрын
Hi Jim. I don't know that it is a better carver than say a Mora Companion. It does have a fine tip which is good but very little belly which is not so good. I find I can carve well, or at least okay with it but the angle of the spine toward the tip can be a bit awkward for thumb placement. I think this knife is riding on the popularity of all things Viking. I like it but I have others I like more. Thanks for commenting

@@MarkYoungBushcraft Yeah, it does look cool, and like something ancient. It’s a little like the skrama, but that makes sense because it’s a chopper. For anything else? It strikes me as a specialty tool or something. Still looks cool though.🙂
