BeBe and CeCe Winans, Michael W. Smith, and others perform a medley of Amy Grant's songs as a tribute to her during the 45th Kennedy Center Honors.
The Kennedy Center Honors is an annual honor given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture.
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is proud to celebrate the 45th Honorees for lifetime artistic achievements: acclaimed actor and filmmaker George Clooney; contemporary Christian and pop singer-songwriter Amy Grant; legendary singer of soul, Gospel, R&B, and pop Gladys Knight; Cuban-born American composer, conductor, and educator Tania León; and iconic Irish rock band U2, comprised of band members Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr.
The event took place Sunday, December 4th, 2022, in the Kennedy Center Opera House, was televised Wednesday, December 28th at 8/7c on CBS, and is streaming on Paramount+.

I love how Michael W. Smith reprised his skill at the piano. A young man who was Amy's bandleader when Age to Age was released in the early 80s. His career would soon come close to Amy's ministry in the years since. I love love seeing him pay tribute to an artist who opened so many doors like Amy did.

Back In the 80's and 90's Amy hit the Radio Airwaves and concert Tours like a machine. Christian book stores across the country had her albums plastered everywhere. During her concert's she was known for not saying much except go on stage, sing and walk off. She wasn't really much of a spokes person for the Christian community. After all these years later, she's being being honored? For What? If you honor Amy, you also must honor Gary Chapman her X husband.
