This song was actually on the popular charts when BeBe and CeCe were on the PTL Club with Jim and Tammy Faye. They were part of Tammy's backup singers. Jim contacted and received permission to change a couple of lines in the song in order to make it a Christiam song. It was first recorded on the PTL label and was a hit for the Winans and PTL.

they are awesome indeed, however the song goes "love lift us up where we belong', not lord. i think that's a big problem in christianity. many focus so much on the lord, or god, or jesus, and forget to love. god does not possess love, nor is he the creator of love. rather god is love. forget about jesus. he was only talking about love. forget about god. it's another word for love. if you are conscious and realize yourself as love, you are christ. take responsibility and be love.
