Me at the end of some successful piratin': Lads, it's been an honor sailing with ye. We acquired some loot, sunk a meager sloop off the coast of Cannon Cove, and even crippled a galleon in the Roar. Our vessel has seen much. Her paint blistered. Her cannons worn. Her capstan in splinters. And the mast being held up by planks, spit, and blood. Let us give her an honorable death, and leave her adrift to burn. May she forever sail towards the setting sun. My friend holding a firebomb and keg: Are you done? Keg makes ship go boom

Our ship, she dreams of wind in her sails Of wind in her sails unfurled And shining as we cross the sea We cross the sea for home And we'll all raise our voices A song in our hearts And set our eyes on distant shores With wind in our sails again There'll be cheering and calling No more squabbling and brawling When we have the wind in our sails When we have our feet on the ground We'll serve the fortune around There'll be feasting and pleasure No more rationing and measure When we have the wind in our sails

I think like a good hundred years ago we lost something truly valuable, when music was turned from something we participated into something we consumed. Your videos make me want that time back soo bad! Even as a non-religious person, I sometimes miss church, for the musical aspects at least. Can we have a sort of church where instead of old church songs, we sing sea shanties and listen to pirate stories instead? And meet every saturday evening for beer, rum and whiskey

'Becalmed' is a haunting instrumental piece that originally appeared in the 2018 pirate adventure game Sea of Thieves. Composed by Robin Beanland, the song's melancholic melody captures the feeling of being adrift on a windless sea, a familiar experience for any virtual buccaneer. The song quickly became a fan favorite, leading to its inclusion in the official Sea of Thieves soundtrack, as well as a 2019 vocal version with lyrics performed by Freya Catherine and Jack Victor. It's a testament to the evocative power of the melody that 'Becalmed' remains a beloved community anthem, with numerous covers and remixes by passionate players. Primary Source: Sea of Thieves. "Becalmed." Sea of Thieves (Original Game Soundtrack). Microsoft Studios, 2018.
