Days End Farm Horse Rescue (DEFHR) spends 84 cents of every dollar donated directly on caring for horses, education programs for the community and animal control officers and providing the highest level of rehabilitative care to horses in need. DEFHR’s commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility ensures that donations are used in an efficient manner to support equine welfare and human education programs, which is why we've received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator year after year.
Thanks to supporters like you, animal control agencies and government offices never receive a bill from DEFHR for the rescue, rehab, housing or daily care of horses- because all local law enforcement should worry about is being a voice for horses in need and being able to act when they find a horse in a life-threatening situation. DEFHR works locally and nationally to assist local authorities in animal cruelty cases with horses suffering from extreme neglect. Horses arrive to DEFHR in critical condition, suffering from parasitism, emaciation and dehydration after living in poor conditions with little to no food, water, shelter and medical care. Our team of staff and volunteers provide each horse with the medical attention and rehabilitative care they desperately need. We teach them what it means to be loved and wanted.
