Another KZbinr installed black-and-white covers from another provider over his white seats, but I like the all-while better. One thing I don't like about either is the velcro straps for the back seats, but I can't think of a better way to do it.

The good news is that the rear seat straps are now all black, so they will blend in better with the black carpeted seatback. I'm just thinking out loud here, but Taptes also sells "seatback protectors", which is like a rear trunk mat for when your rear seats are folded down. 9/28/22 Hi I really enjoyed your video. I bought TAPTES seat covers for my 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range BUT myself and my 14 year old son had difficulties putting them on, they are on but I didn't know how to get the straps under my front seats SO, I am probably going to call the wonderful man who did my PPF and ceramic coating or Tesla store to see if they can put my seat covers on for me correctly and I of course will pay to do that because I give up, lol we tried.

There are side airbags in the front seats. Taptes claims that they have tested them to work with airbags. I’ve seen other brands seat covers online that are tested with airbags, so I know it’s possible. I’m still researching this and will update the video when I collect more evidence.

Because Tesla the manual does say not to use seat covers. I haven't seen any real tests with airbags, just claims they work. Extra material to move and scary stories from emergency service family. But can definitely understand rear seat with kids mess, feel your pain there. You can take off the rear front seat shell by removing the headrest.

Concerned that spills will go right through the perforated seats and stain original seats. When you remove these seats in a year, your OEM seats may be stained and much more difficult to clean.

I mention this in the video. I'm not concerned with minor spills. I would know if there any major spills, so in that case, I would clean it up as soon as possible. Even if that means taking off the seat cover to clean underneath. Knowing me, I'll be inspecting underneath the seat cover every few months anyway to check for wear and messes.

Well I am in the same boat. Got a Model Y with white interior. After barely 2 months the drivers seat has blue jeans transfer on the left side near the door. Impossible to remove. So now I have to buy white covers for my white seats. Feel kinda stupid now I guess.

Hi, Be careful all, if you order from Taptes (China) and deliver to Europe (Spain) there is a minimum 30% additional cost to what you have ordered in DHL import tax. My order was $750 and I am now told by Taptes I have to pay a further $251 in import tax.

Hi all, I would like to give you a heads up on taptes. I ordered just plain white full seat covers and some other accessories for my Tesla 3. I also paid $155 extra for express shipping. Total c.$780. I am 3 weeks on and have not received my goods to Spain. Customer services at Taptes are now emailing telling me I have to pay duty tax and until I accept to pay it they won’t ship the goods. They want me to agree to pay and haven’t even confirmed the amount. It’s now back n forth emails with date when they will despatch the goods. It is bordering on a scam. They should of advised of duty tax at the start. So what you think the products cost isn’t correct. I have ordered items from China before with delivery to Spain and never had to pay duty tax. Not happy. I can now give you all an update. Taptes are now saying the import tax duty is $251 which is more than 30% of the cost of the goods.

I know some of the seat covers you can buy have openings on the sides for the air bags not sure why these don’t.

The seams are designed to break away during the deployment of airbags. I've reached out to Taptes for more details, and they are going to ask their factory for more information about this. I'll keep you posted.

I emailed Taptes this question two times. For what it is worth, these are the answers I got from two different service people: "You mentioned about the airbag problem, you don’t have to worry about it at all. We designed the seat cover with a hole. Our seat is semi-inclusive and there is no airbag problem." The other response just said that airbag compatibility is "automatically designed" into the cover and that I an "rest assured" that it functions wit the bag. Of course, you have to take their word on it.

It came from Taptes also. Same link in the description will take you there. I like it, but don't "love" it. It is a snug fit, but it hangs over the edges so you can tell it's a cover. I wish there were an elastic band around the edges to hold it closer to the edges...near where the release lever is. I may try re-upholstering the armrest with the material from the Taptes armrest so it looks like it came from the factory that way. We'll see....

The seat covers are fantastic! No rips or stains. The only real downside to them is that it takes extra long for the seat warmers to heat up - which is to be expected.

One more quick question if you don't mind. After installing the front seat covers I noticed that the area where your back will be puffs out quite a bit. Will that resolve over time and become more flush to the original seats? Thanks so much!

Sorry for the late reply...just now seeing this. There are plastic clips that help hold them in place, but they are fairly thick, so they may be ok. I would think everything is as durable as the factory seats. So if the seat material and plastic in the car are not melting, these covers should be fine as well.

Things are holding up great. They still look brand new. They don't move around. They're only slightly less comfortable than the factory seats, but I guess that's the trade-off. Comfort vs protection. The difference in comfort is very small, so it's not a deal-breaker for me.

I definitely feel the heat, but it does take a little longer for it to heat up. It's not perfect, but it definitely works.

Thanks for watching, and thanks for the question. A lot of people want white seats but are nervous about them getting dirty or stained. When you order the car in white, you also get the white door panels and white dashboard that matches. In general, seat covers aren't for everyone. They're really for people who have passengers that they often have no control over, such as kids, pets, or ride-share clients (like Uber, Lyft, or Turo). The covers act as a sacrificial skin for the seats so your factory seats stay pristine. If you have no concerns, and just want to enjoy your white factory seats, then you're better off without the seat covers. When the company reached out to me and asked which color I would like, I could have picked any color to make a change, but I just really really really like the way the white looks.

Yes, I have left them on for the past year. Overall, they have held up great. I was mostly concerned with the rear seats where the kids sit, but no issues back there. The only problem I've had is some peeling in the middle of the drivers seat. I spoke with Taptes about it, and sent them pictures. They seem to think it wasn't from normal wear and tear, and that something must have scraped it. If that's true, it could have been one of my kids shoes climbing in and out as they sometimes do. Either way, Taptes offers a 2 year warranty and said they will send me out a replacement. I'll make another video when that happens.

Yes. You don't need to remove the black first, you just place the white on top of the black seats. If you get tired of the white, you can take them off easily to have your black seats back.

It does not get easily discolored with jeans. I mostly wear jeans, and the stock seats always need to be wiped down. These perforated covers don’t stain as easily as the stock seats. No problems wiping down the perforated covers.

I'm going to make an update video on these seat covers sometime in the very near future. Believe it or not, the jean transfer issue was only a problem with the factory seats. Haven't really had any issue with that with these seat covers. Baby wipes are fine, and so is a damp microfiber (dish soap not needed).

Yes, this is an issue…but…it’s not from the covers. It’s from removing the bottom seat and putting it back. The rear seatbelt buckle does not extend out or in. It only swivels up and down. If the bottom seat is not pushed in far enough, the seat belt will be swiveled down, making it tougher to work. If you can push the seat back more to swivel the buckle to face upward, it will be easier to buckle.

I told them about that, and they’re checking with the factory to see if they can make the strips black for all color seat covers. I’ve found that black electrical tape covers it nicely. Like a vinyl wrap for my straps. Lol

Great question and I do have an answer for you. I can only speak of the Taptes brand, since they are the only company that I have experience with regarding seat covers. They offer 2 types of "leather". I use the word leather loosely since they are both manmade. The less expensive Litchi leather is more of an off-white color like you've seen from other vendors. If you upgrade to the more premium Nappa leather, it is identical to the factory white seats from Tesla. Mine is the Nappa leather, and as you can see in my video, it is a perfect match!

Can you show how flat are the rear seats when folded with cover? I noticed that with the Gen 2 seats, the rear seats are sicker and don't get flat when folded. So with two cover layers (one layer for the bottom seat, and one for the back vertical seat) , this must be even worse? Hi, I stumbled upon your video while looking for Tesla car seat covers. These look very good in quality. I am still concerned about airbag deployment like you mentioned. Have decided anything different or gotten anymore info? I noticed some other seat covers manufacturers will actually post a demo video of the airbag deploying through the seat cover, wet okole and inch empire do this. But I didn’t see one for taptes or anything saying it was independently lab tested.

Shipping from Taptes varies. Regular items don’t take very long, but seat covers do take a while because each order is made-to-order, depending on your preferences. Maybe 2 weeks or 3. The wait is worthwhile. The seat covers are high quality and look like the factory covers. I have another company trying to send me universal covers, and I told them no way!

The anchors are tucked in with your fingers. It’s super easy. Removal is similar. You push your fingers in to straighten out the anchor to slide it back out.

This is the Nappa Leather. The main difference is color. Nappa will look identical to the factory seats, and the vegan is slightly off-white. They’re both good, but one looks more factory than the other.

@@EdsonBarron Mine are the Vegan Nappa Leather. They used to be called just Nappa Leather when I ordered mine, but I guess they changed the names a bit. So Nappa Leather and Nappa Vegan Leather are the same thing. Priced at $599 for a complete set. Taptes has added a cheaper version called Taptes Nappa Style leather for $399, and it is supposed to look similar but thinner and less durable. Litchi leather is a bit coarser and not an exact color match to the white. Black would be fine though. Hope that helps.

This is absurd. Get black seats if you don’t want to get white seats dirty. PS We have 5.7.9 seating on the back with white seats and never had any problems with them. I don’t allow food in any car no matter what color are seats.
