My phone(Samsung)doesn't track pick up but it does track screen time. Last week my screen time was 3 hours 28 minutes as the daily average. Mine has gone down significantly since I got my kindle and don't read on my phone anymore.

My screen time is pretty high, because I listen to a lot of youtube while I'm doing things around the house or working on excel spreadsheets. But that doesn't feel like an accurate way of checking how much I'm actually ON my phone. I didn't realize it also gave you the average of how many times you pick it up. Mine is around 40, with the highest days in 80 and the lowest in 15. Not as bad as a I thought 😂

My pick ups is max 5 😂 that can’t be right. I wonder how they calculate that. I’m always using my phone but for audiobooks when I’m driving or just doing things around the house.

I have a super low daily pick-up number (between 19-35 last week) but a very high screen time so what I learned is that when I pick up my phone I don't put it down again 😅 (P.S. Also home all day)

Anytime you activate the accelerometer on your phone it is considered a pickup. This could be just moving your phone or checking the time. So your anxiety-phone-fidgeting is causing the number to be much higher than the number of times you actually unlock your phone to use it. For the intents of what you’re trying to accomplish the massive reduction in screen time is much much more indicative of success :)

Also, from what I can tell, pickups are only counted when you unlock your screen, not just when you pick up your phone to look at the time.

My pickup average was 19 last week which sounds about right. I hate the phone and really only use it when I am going somewhere. Now my screen time on my computer....that is something different.

I didn’t realize it tracked pick ups but mine averages between 60 and 70 a day on weekdays and around 100 on weekends

Your thoughts on Wheel of Time are very similar to mine - I've read the whole series, and I found books 4-9 to drag the most. I kind of feel like you could skip them and read a recap and not have missed anything... But once Brandon Sanderson starts writing them it perks up so much.

My average is 62 pickups but 1. This has definitely decreased since I actually started my job 2. My weekend pickups are over 100 3. Usually when I pick up my phone I spend a lot of time on them so my screen time is still pretty high 😅

According to my very basic, not deep, who knows if it’s correct search.. you have to interact with the phone (meaning unlock it and go into something) but Siri also counts as a tally.

My daily average is 142 pickups 😬 It is almost exclusively KZbin and Messages (to give myself a little credit, I often put on KZbin Lofi/playlists, so a lot of the time is passive listening). That’s wild though! Definitely good to be aware of it…

I love WoT, but Shadow Rising is not even in my top 5 favorite books of the series, so I wouldn't really listen to the masses when they say that one single book is the standout installment. Everyone has different tastes. WoT can be a frustrating series, and it's a huge commitment if you aren't loving it. Do you have to stay part of the read along or can you drop out if you just really don't want to do it anymore?

This is so much more doable than time spent. Time spent I average about 6hrs a day but only average 100 unlocks a day. Its a shame about the Wheel of Time series, kinda glad I didn't invest in it
