Ok, fellow Becca and the Books watchers, had she read or mentioned Penance? When she mentioned past their prime crumbling seaside towns it made me think of Penance even though it's not a fantasy.

I also need to focus on sequels. Jan I read 4/7 though so I’m quite happy. You should really pick up Empire of the Damned, the third is coming out towards the end of the year.

I do have Godkiller on my shelf though and I'm very much looking forward to starting that series. I love the sound of The September House. maybe you could also do another"reading the entire series" vlog, where you finish a series you've already started (doesn't have to be within a week). And then maybe after you've read so many sequels, you could pit the series against each other so we know which series are consistently good and where we need to watch out for a change of quality or someting :D

I had 13 five-star reads out of 222 books read, and 99 four-star reads. The biggest percentage for me were three-star reads at 105. Only 3 were two-star reads and 2 were one-star reads as I usually DNF books I dislike that much pretty early on. I DNFed probably 6 or 7 books last year, but I don't count those toward my number of read books. The few two-star and one-star reads that slipped through are usually because they were three-star reads right up until the end and then the end ticked me off so badly that they tanked my rating.
