For real though! I was rolling out content the same way I do now…. But for almost no one…. But it was what I needed to do to learn and grow!

My #1 one mistake is not marketing. From watching your videos, I increased my product creation, which is the part I enjoy.

I was just working this morning on making my previews, thumbnails, and all that good stuff for a new product. And before I knew it, almost an hour had gone by and I was not even finished. It takes a long time, but I agree with you Becca, it is important to do it and it makes a difference. Ps. I was today years old when I found out you can post BOTH a video and a normal pdf preview. Oh my God, I've been living under a rock?! The more you learn! I will most definitely add both from now on. Thank you, Becca!

It is time consuming but it’s SO IMPORTANT. Well they just released video previews on google products but on the others, yes they are both available and helpful

Congratulations on your success! You mentioned some people have amazing stats at the start and your first month was $7, but actually you had an amazing start I'd say, because you had consistent growth, which means a lot of your early products took off, and you were able to find product lines that sell right away. Some people never find these product lines or take a couple years before they find their first one. I think your experience is just work away adding to those lines, you already have a lot of templates so that can be relatively fast, or faster, to add to those lines, and then you'll sell more and more and make more money, but others have hundreds of products that sit there selling zero or next to zero. I think your niche in music helps significantly, too. It's not about excuses (I myself make more than $1000/month so I think that's quite good and I've been doing TpT about a year and a half) but like most things in life, a lot is out of our control. Do what we can, so our ingredient is hard work, try to make the best decisions you can, but then a lot is also out of one's control. You emphasize that yes you made thousands in one month and then immediately add but you worked your b off, but others work their b off too and make under 100 a month. They probably need to keep searching for that product line that is going to sell, but some find it sooner and some take years, and you found it right away, so just to be aware of that when chalking it all up to hard work and telling people it's just hard work or something like that. Anyway, that would just be my note for people to also keep in mind. But again, it's amazing what you've been able to do and you have worked hard and done a good job and made good decisions, too.

Exactly.... In the hustle culture of the United States, that's something no one ever wants to hear is that something could actually be out of one's control....

It is a huuuuge issue! We get so stuck in the thinking that we never move forward. And yes, tough love is always something I have plenty of over here.

Loved the stopping too soon mistake I’ve been on the site as a seller for 1 year now. I remember messaging you in the first couple of months worried that my store wasn’t making much sales. Now I’m on 55 product🎊

That’s very normal! And if you had stopped then, you wouldn’t have made all of that progress. You can’t reap the benefits if you don’t do the work

I appreciate that you address the 'no excuses'. It's usually my issue. A lot of other business people will just keep on with certain systems or ways of doing things, but the execution really comes down to getting it done, no excuses. There might be great ways of doing things, but no system will get it done for me. 🤣 And every time I start to let things slide and make excuses, you mention something along the lines of execution and no excuses in one of your videos. 😂

Because it’s so important! You can have the best system but if you don’t execute, it’s not helpful

I would add not giving it enough time to work. Whenever I add a new thing to what I'm doing, I always expect to see a difference right away, but in reality it takes to see strategies translate into sales.

I think I must be thinking differently than the average TPT shopper because I hate cover pages. I prefer when TPT teachers use thumbnails of the product.

How do you add your product on tpt but use a different picture or video for the preview, not the actual product as the thumbnail?
