I am the proud son of a WWII and grandson of a WWI veterans. Both broken men in different ways. Their sacrifice allowed me to grow into the man I now am. Thank you. And thank you Beccy for the beautiful songs.

After being out for 33 years I'm still broken and my greatest regret was letting mum my rock see me broken when I didn't even know I was broken. Sorry mum for putting u thru this, love u and still miss u. Wish I could change this. Your the best mum ever xoxo

Aloha Miss Beccy!!! We met in Iraq when you entertained us in Basrah (and got stuck overnight) with "Angry" :D. I've always remembered your wonderful self and how much I enjoyed meeting you, dancing to your singing, and watching you slay all the instruments at our impromptu concert. Hope to see you again in person! All my blessings, a US female soldier! ;)

As an old vet from an older war First heard Beccy Cole about 3 years ago.She is amazing and this wonderful song pays tribute to the mothers of all generations who saw their sons leave and return changed .A timeless song as the mothers of broken soldiers from todays conflicts carry on caring and fighting for their sons. Bravo Beccy Cole and thank you for the recognition shown to these wonderful women.

All I can say is simply amazing. Thank you so much for writing this beautiful song and remembering our dear son, CAPT Paul McKay. He was a very private person but I think he would have been completely amazed, slightly embarrassed but immensely proud of this song. He always believed that the Australian Diggers were the best soldiers in the world - bar none! Again, thank you, Beccy.

Beccy, you really have got this correct. As a Vietnam Veteran I found I could relate so easily. My wife just said "oh your home are you, well I'm going to a party, you can please yourself. We divorced soon after. My sister told me I left part of me over there and my mother told me she prayed for me every night. I later found out I was so dead inside and couldn't even cry. I know this is a late comment, but I had to add it

A wonderful song, and being Anzac Day an incredible tribute to our service men and women and their families and a reminder that it doesn't end when they come home for many of our heroes. Your can be very proud of this song and your Sweet Rebecca album. What a year! Your book Poster Girl is an incredible read as you said in your ABC radio interviews - you did lay it all out and it makes those who have followed your career from the beginning, even more proud of you and your achievements. Your are an incredible entertainer but more than that, an incredible person. Looking forward so much to the Hallam Hotel gig.

He didn't say a word today He just sat there in his chair And every hour I bought a tray But he never broke his stare If I try too hard he pushes me away My heart forgives a bruise or two Sometimes he cried like a baby in my arms And I rock him like I used to do Do broken soldiers ever mend? Is anybody on their side? In a war without an end, another hero is denied And all the battle weary mothers are the bravest of them all 'Cause they'll fight the war alone before they'll Let their broken soldiers fall They took his uniform away He's no good to them like this And his wife, she didn't stay And he couldn't face the kids A year of waiting for his safe return A year of not so silent prayers He came back but I don't recognize the man He's still missing over there Do broken soldiers ever mend? Is anybody on their side? In a war without an end, another hero is denied And all the battle weary mothers are the bravest of them all 'Cause they'll fight the war alone before they'll Let their broken soldiers fall He wore Australia's flag with pride He did what he did was born to do And now my son is dead in side What a mother supposed to do Do broken soldiers ever mend? Is anybody on their side? In a war without an end, another hero is denied And I'm a battle weary mother wants someone hear my call 'Cause I fight the war alone before I Let my broken soldiers fall We will fight the war alone before we Let our broken soldiers fall
