Chiba - RATM Taira - RHCP Ryusuke - Hendrix Dying Breed (When they played My World Down) - Oasis I've Got A Feeling - Beatles I'm sure there was a Nirvana tribute somewhere too, if I remember correctly XD There was even a Shawshank Redemption reference in the scene where Koyuki plays 50 C Wisdom at the school XD

Well, obviously, but it isn't like the show ignores the engrish. There are whole scenes that concern Koyuki trying to learn to speak better English, and so I personally think that the lack of perfect grammar/pronunciation is one of the little things that really makes me love this version.

@nevadachi Spare me the emotion rhetoric. Emotion? Please. Anyone can emote. If emotion was all it took to be a good actor, anyone could do it. I could do it. There are plenty of things, such as pronunciation, enunciation, and timing that are lost on you if you don't understand the language being spoken. All you really know when listening to a language you don't understand is some smaller emotions (Yay!) and how pleasant the voices sound. You know that a lot of Japanese actually like the English

@OniLordMiki in my opinion this version has more emotion in it, in the dub version is like: "since you never could catch me...*sighs* find you weeping in darkness". sounds like the dub guy is SO bored! Besides, japanese ppl got their seiyuu picked in acordance to the character personality. unlike when they dub in other language. For me if its dubbed it loses part of the characters personality right there.

@adrianGGO its not the engrish that is the problem...its the actual singing. the actor had a lot of trouble controlling his breathing and holding notes and you add to the fact he has a strong accent, the quality of singing is not going to be as high. Beat Crusaders (the band that wrote most of the songs for the show) sing a lot of songs in engrish but you don't hear the struggle as you do with japanese koyuki. the point is the singing not the engrish is problem.

And I know that singing in English as a Japanese person must be very hard work, but the personal effort doesn't matter if the finish product turns out to be unsatisfying.
