What makes it such a great performance is that he has absolutely no f***s to give about acting the fool. He's gonna have fun and no matter how uptight the audience is they can't help but get sucked up by the energy.

Not only is this my favorite version of "Where It's At," it's also my favorite Beck recording, period. If you don't have it, get your hands on the "Make Out City" bootleg, which has the entire show in excellent sound quality.

Odd that you don't want others to analyze it. What do you care? He applied cologne while doing the robot -- it's fun to analyze that.

The last time I saw him was here in Ireland, he headlined our biggest festival and played a 3 hour 15 minute set, including a 20 minute version of this... Out of the 750+ acts I've seen live/worked at over the last 14 years; he's one of the all time greatest!

Te best musician of the last 15 years , I'll second that. Odelay is 12 years old and sounds as fresh and cutting edge today as it ever did. Beck is an artistic giant albeit a very postmodern one and in my mind he, in terms of merit, keeps the company of Dylan, Van Morrison, Cohen, Lou Reed, Bowie . Sea Change showed he had depth in his songwriting and playing outside of studio based genre blending genius that is his trademark. The Information is a complex landmark record well ahead of its time
