@@WeatherNut27I have one of the ancient clear Dwyer ones with the ball that gets sucked up the tube. Still works probably 40 years after it was made. Probably not super accurate but good enough. Still have a Bacharach Wet Kit too, one of the glass ones , that still works too but don't use it as often as the Testo 310.

Nice, I haven't worked on those in decades. I installed a minisplit two years ago. Even at 18 degrees, my burner rarely kicks on. Mostly just for hot water.

Regarding finding help these days, you probably can find help, employees however, they usually require some basic training in the trade or type of job you give them. Many of them are still learning how to show up for work on time and be productive.

I don’t understand the point of the clutch coupler, what’s it supposed to improve over a simple pump coupler?
@joeyjennings954810 ай бұрын
.75 90° nozzle? straight coupling sounds way better. working good now 👍

I have been bombarded with service calls had to replace an inducer motor last night after the tenants had no heat for a few days no plumbing supply store had that for that particular furnace I had to order it online after I told the owner 6 months ago I replaced a flame sensor on it I released the inducer fan was getting stuck I lubed it I told him needs to be replaced because it will fail at the worst time and it did on the coldest days sometimes they have to learn the hard way

Can you do a video just on your gripes with the bio slime? An in-depth video with your thoughts on it would be interesting
@theodorgiosan25709 ай бұрын
It's because the old cloth filters aren't fine enough. They have spin on filters specifically rated for biofuel that deal with the issue. In my opinion they should all be changed to spin ons at this point. Can't filter water and junk through a piece of wool. Even better the spin on filter mounts can fit a Caterpillar 175-2949 water separator. Same thread size as the heating spin ons but pulls water out. Best way to set it up is 2 pipe system through a water separator. That way it keeps the water from sitting in the bottom of the tank because the oil burner pulls all the oil through the water separator and puts the clean oil back in the tank.

That big orifice nozzle the customer put in was WAY TOO RICH and likely was consuming much fuel for the short time he had it. You have to wonder who sold him that size if he didn't buy it on his own. The fact that the fuel pressure was that low tells me the unit hasn't had a decent service job in a while.

Never let your customers do their own shit...TELL THEM SIMPLY TO CALL FOR SERVICE !! As a tech.....you make more money that way !
@biker5555510 ай бұрын
Steve is not money hungry. I always give people an option to do their own shit because they will with or without me if they have enough will. People that are willing to pay will call you regardless. Doing own minor service is not rocket science, one just needs to put enough effort into learning the right way. The problem today is people are not willing to invest enough time and effort to learn, they make shit up as they go and make mistakes. Read the darn manual! RTFM
