@@service_poodles They can apply for a skilled companion dog that is a highly trained assistance dog from Canine Companions when he turns five years of age and the dogs are already trained and placed free of charge.

I had a student with the SDR permanent botox pump and a heads up we were told that because of the pump the student could not be picked up under the armits or (like I've seen in your videos gently tossed up) as the pump tubes could come dislodged causing a overdose which could cause death) and due to the pumo he could never have megnets near him as it could ruin the pump.)The pump battery only lasts so many years before the pump must be replaced, ever 3 months had to go for a refill. Not sure if this is still the case.

Beckham looked like he might have been headed for the couch when he was sitting. I was hoping that he would be able to just explore and just maybe pull himself up on the couch. I know I have mentioned this before, but has Beckham's therapist recommended AFO's again? Please consider them again otherwise he will have major issues later, by issues I mean he may not be able to wear shoes at all. Also, he seems to be so happy when he is in his wheelchair.

I had Sdr when I was five. Initially, it was wonderful and I made a lot of progress. However, since I’ve gotten older, my legs and my arms have regressed, also, the neurologist is pretty sure that the scar tissue from the surgery has greatly contributed to my scoliosis. Your son is adorable!!❤

I am a retired RN, and I used to fill baclofen pumps ( for adults). There are real advantages to the pumps. 1. No more Botox injections 2. The dose can be very closely regulated for maximum effects with very few side effects compared to the oral medicine. The pump is usually filled every three months, and it just requires one stick which isn’t very painful. The down sides are that it does require surgery to implant, it does need a new battery every 5 years or so, and it is possible, though rare for the catheter which leads out of the pump to split or become detached. The requires surgical repair. I don’t know about restrictions on playing, etc, since I never worked with kids. Most of my patients were very happy with their pumps.

My grandson with cp is the same age, and each pisition, wheelchaire, standing station, etc can only be for a certain amount of time , to make sure all muscles are developping evenly 😊

Don't be afraid to maintain stream him in with "normal children" in classrooms in the future for a few classes. He is smarter and brighter than you realize. So challenge him to reach for the stars. An enjoy normal children and activities without him feeling like he does not fit in. You will be amazed what willhe learn to do from "normal children" Teach him he isn't different. He is unique an very special for reason. An only man upstairs knows why he special.

Hey Rach, have you guys ever thought to try and take Beckham to a basketball game since he likes a bouncing ball? You can try something small like a YMCA game or a local high school game so it won’t be so intense, but it might be something Hunter and Beckham can do together as like a guys night so to speak. Beckham's cute, but I'm distressed by the sheer amount and nature of the social engineering of humanity's interactions with one another, and particularly, at the moment, how it is exemplified here. I think some people are brought together, family units and children's lives built as living justifications of this. Now it's like, just because Beckham is here and the nature of his needs is such as it is, his life has been a way of saying that it's okay to segregate kids in general and kids like him are the reason why. Kids are meant to be a full members of their communities. I see all of this, and then you present yourself, frankly, as Mommy Barbie, clearly not committed to the most important elements of this, and then you top it all off by bringing up Las Vegas, the frivolity capital of the world. For one thing, don't you think giving a kid in his situation the name Beckham was really messed up? I just hope you do the best you can by him and your peers do the same by his. That's what I hope when I see stuff like this and every day.
