Great advice, thank you very much! I have blue refills but never dared to use them because I always feared they might just not disappear. But two glue pens would solve that problem, one for light and one for dark so to speak. Thanks again!

I used the Appliquik yellow glue pen for my EPP and found that it was a stronger glue than the blue. I could NOT easily remove the paper template (I use double freezer paper) easily but the blue Sew Line glue pen was still strong enough to hold the fold but I could remove the paper so much easier. So for EPP I am sticking with the Sew Line blue glue pen. Also, I was able to use one filler to make about 144 little diamonds.

I've stopped using these glue pens especially the blue one because once I'd finished my applique a bit of water got on it. I got scared when I saw blue on the white thinking the blue background had run into the white even though it had been pre-washed. turns out that when the glue gets a bit wet or damp it reactivates the colour but once it dried it disappeared again. This I didn't like because that's too much like the effect frixion or water soluble pens have when exposed to moisture or heat. so now I only use UHU clear glue because its non-toxic, solvent and acid free. if they make a glue pen that doesn't have colour in it I'll start buying them again but until then I'll use UHU. besides its cheaper too

Hi Marianne: Thanks for the recommendation. I'll give UHU a try. I use the yellow glue more often than the blue, but clear could be better :-).

What is UHU please?

@@raggedyanna6-Missy UHU is a brand of glue. not sure where you live but in australia you can get it.

@@raggedyanna6-Missy It's just a brand name glue stick and available in the U.S. Like Elmer's glue which is more of a popular brand. It's generally considered "office supplies" and used on paper, but if it's "washable" I suppose it's ok. My only concern is, is it water soluble? Because I wouldn't want my sewing needles to get "gunked" up when the needle hits the fabric. Just something to think about.

Becky, you didn't explain what's the reason you use sand paper. Please elaborate.

I almost always work on top of a sandpaper board to keep fabric and shapes from shifting. I'm working on top of one in this video.

Yes, I'm not sure they did when I made the video, but they do now. And that yellow glue refill is likely the same no matter which company it comes from. Personally, it's easier for me to have the two different pens that I can tell apart at a glance because I do sometimes still use the blue glue and I know it's in the pink Sewline pen, yellow is in the QS pen.
