Multiple $100+ Sales + A Heart Breaking eBay Return - What Sold on Poshmark, eBay, & depop

May is looking pretty good with multiple $100+ sales on reselling platforms like Poshmark and eBay. It wouldn't be reselling, however, it a few curves weren't thrown into the mix, like a heart-brekaing return on eBay on a $200+ item. In this video, I share everything that sold for me over the span of two weeks. The laundry soap is called "Glamorous Wash" and it has a very distinct smell that you cannot get out no matter what! It is so strong that I can smell an item in the aisle at the thrift store. I stopped picking these items up because I was getting too many complaints but it was also stinking up my house. I started to disclose it in my listing if I accidentally bring it home and haven't had a problem since. Hope your sale goes through!

I have someone come in and do inevntory every day because I have 6000 items. I only sell on platform, and when he does inventory there are some stuff that aren't listed. Posh can take them down and you wont know what they are. So inventory is big for me since I like to have my business very organized.

Speaking of getting items from a friend... Becky, I've been SO overwhelmed this week! A local friend lost both parents within recent weeks (each had various health problems), and instead of making 2-hour round trips to thrift stores, she and her siblings decided to bring ALL the clothing to me! I'm talking almost $3,000 worth, at a conservative estimate! WOW! (No one had realized they had 6 closets filled with clothing!) And for all the items that aren't worth selling on ebay, we're having city-wide yard sales in 2 weeks! So while I can barely get thru my living room at the moment, lol, it'll be worth it in the long run.

I have been doing pretty well on Depop! It does better for me than Mercari and I don’t really curate per se. I mean I don’t list things like Talbots over there but really anything I can use popular key words with I do! Everlane sells great on Depop too.

I had a case open on Poshmark for a wool sweater the buyer said smelled musty. Poshmark usually requires proof of the issue in the form of pictures, but smell can’t be proven in pictures unless the item is literally showing stink lines. Poshmark sided with me on that case.

As for Depop. I list everything over there. I am shocked about what I am getting likes and offers on. The only frustrating thing is people not finishing the payment process, but still. 1 sale so far, and that was on a pair of Figs scrub pants.

I don't think that you need to curate on Depop. I make a lot of random sales on there like that. Madewell, Free people, ect. do really well on there too

I had Mutiple returns this week. What can you do? You give them all the dimensions; you describe them correctly and they still return them. The point is, there isn't much you can do. Don't be hard on yourself.

People kill me with returns sometimes. I had someone return a skirt, that said in 3 places it was a skirt, but she thought it was a skort. 🙄🤷‍♀️ I hope she doesn't ship it back especially since she's had plenty of time to wear it. Fingers crossed 🤞 Have an amazing weekend Becky!

I so hate eBay return policy. It gives the buyer ample time to wear and return. This is not rent the runway 😂🤦🏾‍♀️. I had a guy open a return case on eBay stating “I don’t like it” which gave me the option to not accept the item. I declined the return, later he comes back and says eBay basically told him he should have chosen a different option (INAD) which was not the case. I was very pissed that they would even suggest that when he chose honestly the 1st time.

@@rachellejean-batiste208 it’s honestly terrible. I hate that they don’t let us set our return parameters. They should have 3 days to open a return and 7 to ship it back after the return is approved. There’s no reason why they need so much time to decide if something fits or if it works for them. They can basically keep your item for 45+ days, which even if they aren’t wearing it, is ridiculous as that is time that you could have used to list it and sell it again. Plus, as you experienced, most of the time the eBay CSRs are not knowledgeable. They’re rolling out a feature where you can accept multiple offers and the first to pay gets the item. A buyer of mine didn’t pay on time and someone else bought it. I explained what happened, and she complained to eBay and they told her no such feature exists! 🤦🏻‍♀️

@user-zp3vk9lc5h totally agree! I only ever have returns on ebay. I have only ever had someone open a "not as described" case once on mercari, and they never actually shipped it. I think ebay creates a high number of returns with their crappy policies

How do you make sales on Depop? I started cross listing on there and a bunch of people like my items I send them an offer and no one ever buys. I also use there promoted listing feature, still nothing. Any tips? Thanks.

It depends on what you sell too. I sell vintage items and I get a lot of sales on Depop. I do agree that a lot of people like items with no interest in buying, which I find to be strange haha

i have been using Depop for 2 years and nobody has ever returned anything. Ebay BY FAR has the most returns. TBH I think ebay's return policies are dumb. I have only ever had one person open a claim on Mercari, and they never ended up actually returning the item. No returns ever on Poshmark either. I think ebay creates that problem by even offering returns.

I think that is their policy which is crazy, but knock on wood I’ve never had one. I did have someone try to do a chargeback saying the item was inauthentic but Depop sided with me. Not only did I not loose the funds but they kicked that person off the platform lol
