You should check the terms of getting a visa, because the course lasts for 4 months and usually a student visa is only for 3 months...

Hey man. Any particular reason your friend chose Norway? Is this a complete offshore training or is it onshore only?

Hei. He had some agreements with some of the companies in Norway. Training is onshore. Finishing course, your certificate will say offshore as well (but as I understand it, working offshore you need some more papers like seamanship or smth to work).

@@rannarlaur I have been looking in the UK where I live, the entire training is only 4 weeks, it seem it took you guys 4 weeks just to do the theory, and it's cheaper in Norway. I'm thinking Norway would be a much better choice. How did your friend find work after qualifying? Was it fairly easy for him?

of course you can. it will be a little bit harder to learn to use english more and more, but it is doable. some guys don´t speak any english when they come to school, but in the end they do ;)

Commercial DIver course lasts for 16 weeks and costs 45000NOK. But there will be some additional expenses like some equipment and medical. So roughly 5000€ all together. This is just for the course. Plus living expenses (accommodation and food) for 4 months.
