I 'm a Dental Tech. for 51 years. In a commercial lab you do the work for dentists. They send down the impressions and you make the dentures. My experience is the lab does 75 percent of the work but only charges a small percentage of the total cost of the appliance.According to the internet $51,000.00 a year is for techs .with years of experience.

Hello, I live in the USA for 15 years now. And from my experience, the US industry will not accept employees from any country in the world unless they have a degree and a license issued by a US college or institute. My humble opinion is that you send your son to study a dental lab technology program in the US, then he can push his way through finding a job there and change his visa status if he is lucky enough. I might not be 100% correct , but this is my experience from living here. Best regards.

I guess it can be if you don't follow all protective measures

If the lab has proper equipment to get rid of the monomer vapers and acrylic dust the risk is diminished.UNFORTUNATLY a lot of labs don't.

@larrystradeski8261 I got offered a job at a dental lab and was concerned about the acrylic dust and vapors in the air. The HR woman there just told me that they have a safety book somewhere if I want to read it. She never addressed my safety concerns. I don't want to develope occupational asthma so I turned the job down

Your concerns may be valid.I'm a dental tech. for 50 years. The only place l worked that had an acrylic dust suction is my present place and that was installed 5 years ago.I now do more wheezing and sometimes shortness of breath than maybe I should but I will be 70 this August😊.
