After 15 years in the game, I agree so freaking hard. I started doing it for fun, then started to obsess to do "what worked". Even more, I obsessed over looking "professional", trying to look like all those channels I like with studios and multiple people behind the scenes and a budget. It burnt me to hell. And what "worked" in the end? Fuck everything, I'm doing this for the fun. I want to do what I want to do, the way I enjoy to do it. And ffs; never, NEVER obsess over views and subs. You might think you're doing the shittiest shitty vid on Earth and that's the one that will blow up. It's just not on your hand, so just enjoy the process and the craft. Love what you're doing.

The algorithm is like an unsupportive partner who fundamentally doesn't like you, but likes the idea of what you might be if you just applied yourself (made yourself fit their world view). Playing by those rules attracts a thousand people who don't like you, and will tell you so in the comments. Be yourself and then the right people will love you instead.
