You can use companions to smith too!! I always have a companion to focus on charcoal production and smelting daggers and throwing knives

I'm fairly new and learned the hard way that you absolutely want to focus on whatever blade has the most swing damage. The higher the swing damage the higher the value and the faster you'll learn new parts. Some weapon types are exponentially faster to learn because of this. For one hand blades I believe the tier 2 Iron Scimitar Blade is the best all the way until tier 5. For Two Hand Swords use the highest swing damage blade until you unlock the Falx Blade. The Falx blade can get you up to 2 parts per smelting with Curious Smelter Perk.

Selling 2handed swords is the easiest to start with since the base parts make a sword that can sell for ~900 denars. The downside is that it costs a ridiculous amount of metal to craft sword blades compared to the other crafts. If you have the ability to do so, getting this one particular crafting part in the polearm tree will make money flow from the anvil at a rate that is equal to the 2hand swords and also cheaper on materials. There is a tier 3 polearm, I believe it's called the "Short Pine Shaft," shaft that allows for the weapon to be thrown, and the game calculates the weapon to be 10 to 100 times more expensive than any other polearm with a different staff. Combine that with any of the heads that can swing and you'll get a polearm that costs at minimum 4,000 with the worst heads and 40,000 with the better of the two voulge heads. Most sword blades are 3-5 metal, while most polearm heads are 1-3 metal. With that in mind, you'll be able to make more polearms that are all very expensive. The worst part of the polearm crafting is the initial crafts are all less than 500 denars, but once you get that tier 3 throwable shaft, it will all be worth it.

If you want early and reliable 14-15k a weapon to sell, grind out javelins. Very few parts overall, so it’s quick to learn. That said, need a bit of starting capital to buy javelins to scrap.

I can make 1 million in around 5-15 minutes depending on if I need to go to a different city to buy tribe daggers - takes about 2 hours on a fresh char to grind up to make 15k javs

I used to use smithing to generate cash all the time, but it is so tedious that it sucks my will to live. Now I just use battle loot for cash and only smith when I want to create the legendary weapons for the mc and companions. Nice vid.

pick up a companion or 3, have at least 1 mirror you on perks. then have at least 1 opposite you on perks- have him/her/they get all the maker perks. use the encyclopedia (N key) to find your wanderer/companions that already have smith skill. pick up a few troops, that way you arent getting rundown by bandits. just remember to keep up to but not over 2x the horses/mules than you have troops- for carrying capacity and speed. buy and smelt pugio and tribesman throwing daggers- for crafting materials. you'll need to experiment with other weapons to see what they give you ( i dont remember very many-. light imperial mace and broad arming sword give good materials also). besides the materials, swing cut damge bears on price as well- the higher the better. play with the size slider bars- all the way up isnt always the best.

You should try out short pine shaft in two handed polearms it's crazy how this thing make them expensive i guess because it's add (thrown) to them , you should do some testing with this thing and make video about it , best of luck buddy Note: it should make wonders with high trade skill and artisan perk from smithing and arm dealer perk from roguery

Best Material/Income Ratio is with the short pine handle, use the small or normal menavlion head, or the last (fine steel) or just the rake head (only wood and coal) for max profit. you buy a small throwing weapon and get 50k out of it. get 1 million in 20 days.

5k is essentially nothing for a smithed weapon. Once they're 50k plus you're doing it right. 65k barely buys armor in this game so that's not nearly enough

do you know how to unlock tier 6 parts? Cuz ive been buying swords for 100k from the market and smelting them yet the highest tier parts I get are tier 3. The swords I buy are tier 6 also, its not like im buying low tiers.

@@jeanyes3995 IDK if you've found this out yet, but in the recent update they changed things with smithing, now no matter what tier weapon you smelt, etc...you will only unlock things from your current tier of parts...so if you have all of tier 1 and 2 parts for something, and you smelt a tier 5, no matter what you will only unlock tier 3 since it is the next tier where you dont have all of the parts, finish getting all of tier 3 and then you'll start getting tier 4, etc...

I hope this video works for me, I had 700k plus denars but after getting seven fiefdoms (8 at one point), including two big towns, and now I have zero denars. And I'm near clan tier 6. I desperately need the help. Otherwise, my character Sagen will be bankrupt. He's already 80k in debt. I had 285 soldiers in my crew at one point but only 52 are loyal to me now. I continue on for them. I'll also add Vlandia and me have conquered about 75% of the map, with most paying tribute to us. Yet I remain broke.

@@DrMalbin Thank you, I'm still grinding and making swords, and the money from it is certainly helping. But I'm actually 700k in debt now. I'm clan tier 6 now, with 9 fiefdoms, I'm spending more than ever before! I have more fiefdoms than the king and his closest allies, more than anyone in Vlandia, yet more fiefdoms means more soldiers to pay. Guess I have to level up my smithing, but I already have a companion that's Smithing Level 72. I need a million denars badly.

Once you level up the smithing to a certain level, it has the perks of ignoring 50% of trade penalty for crafted items. Mine so far can reach 38k per piece (this is with 0 trading skill)
