Thank you! Happy to share my wisdom on piano playing. Is there anything you would want a video on specifically that you think would help you?

@@adventurewithdanny Yes! It's straightforward to make chord progressions and melodies that come out well. But sometimes, it can come off as generic or good but not exceptional and outstanding. How do we take our music from good and pleasant to amazing, extraordinary, and mind-blowing? Thanks so much for replying!

You seem quite talented, how long have you played? Also i love the videos of great keys players like yourself hearing a popular song they’ve never heard then playing and reciting it by ear instantly. You should do a break down like that and walk us through each step you take in your mind to get to where you play the song fully, would be good content at least

I don't quite get how I can learn all these concepts for ALL the keys. I understand learning arpeggios, chord progressions, out of chord keys, major, minor etc for one key. But I assume learning all this for all 12 notes will take years. How do I go about that? I suppose the answer is to learn a simple scale first, stick to that one for a couple months? I feel learning multiple scales at once will be confusing.

I play bass mainly not piano so I can’t offer advice specific to piano. Tl:dr - learn and memorize the circle of fifths, there are great videos out there explaining what it can be used for and how it functions. The simple answer is repetition. Do something every day and it’ll come to you eventually, but you have to actually work on it every day or as many days as you’re able. You also need to know WHAT you’re even trying to work on before sitting down at the keyboard, that way you don’t just go to your keyboard and sit there trying to figure out what to do. The slightly longer answer is learn the circle of fifths. Music is a series of systems and patterns that work together. You just need to understand how all of these systems function. With learning all 12 keys, it’s not that you’ve completely mastered every single key and memorized everything you can play within every single one. It’s more about knowing a specific pattern or “theory” that just works. The pattern that showcases all 12 keys better than anything else is the cycle of fifths, Find whichever method you can to memorize it. This can literally just be starting from a root and going a fifth from it 12 times to give you the full circle. Whatever helps you to write it out, just Be able to draw it out by hand completely; Major keys and minor keys. And if you understand the circle of fifths visually and are able to apply that to your instrument you automatically understand the relationships of fifths and fourths, how to find any key signature, functional Harmony, intervals, transposition, and chord structure. Just learn it, sooner rather than later. I wish I did sooner. And if this isn’t much help, I hope I didn’t waste your time

memorize the key signatures, and play your scales of every key regularly. focus on one key at a time. dedicate a whole month to just practicing one key signature and in about a year you will become so proficient in all the keys you will be a wizard

You got great replies from other people, and I will essentially echo that if you focus on 1 key at a time you will start to see a domino effect. Learn your C scale, learn it in 3rds, 4ths, triads, etc. Then do your G scale. If you did the work correctly on C, getting it in G will be a lot easier!

Focusing on the idea of blowing people's mind with your piano skills sounds like an ego problem xd Hardly anyone will ever really care no matter how good you are. The only feasible way to become really good without potentially traumatising yourself is to be in love with the music and the instrument.

Hey bro I hear you - I do think you have to come from just wanting to play well and loving the music, but if you are able to develop these 4 skills you will start to consistently blow people's minds, which is REALLY FUN
