This may be a "duh" question but how does this work if you star on a minor?

So basically, for any minor key you use the relative Major key. To find that, take the minor key and go up three half-steps (3 notes). So for A minor, 3 notes up is C, so you can use all the chords in C major on the circle of fifths (F C G Dm Am Em). If you want to play in E Minor, go up 3 notes to G, and you can use all of the chords in G For D Minor, go up three to F# and use those chords Hope that makes sense!

Goodnight. The Circle of 5ths resolves not to the right, but to the left of the piano keyboard, every five semitones, one note progressively lower. But you should not look for the sequence of fifths, but the sequence of Perfect 4ths five semitones to the right of the piano keyboard. And every Perfect 4th is an enharmonic Dominant 5th... Root Tonics for minor scale are described with lowercase letters in the sequence of Perfect 4ths. When used as a Dominant 5th Tonic, it should be capitalized, because it is a Major mode. After f, the perfect fourth follows b♭ (b flat minor) and then e♭ (e flat minor). but after e♭ follows g♯ - c♯ and f♯, which are absolute minor root notes, to continue with b (b natural minor). When you do the succession from right to left you will read Dominant Fifths, and they are Root notes for a Major scale. So the Absolute Minor Fundamentals change to their corresponding enharmonic flat: g♯ into A♭ - c♯ into D♭ and f♯ into g♭. Because the Dominant 5ths follow each other from right to left on the piano keyboard, the accidental keys become enharmonic flats, that is: The Dominant 5th of B or b is G♭ enharmonic; then, five semitones lower, you find D♭, and so on, the five flats (black keys) before reaching F again (with a capital letter because they are tonics of a Major scale.). F Major Sharp does not exist. This is the first Fifth Enharmonic Dominant "G Major". Because "Dominant" means "Fundamental for Major scale", and because Dominant Fifths are resolved in a Circle, every two tones and a semitone down on the piano. First, the five "Sharp alterations" for the natural scales are resolved, and then the following are the five flats: G ♭ - D ♭ - A ♭ - E ♭ - B ♭, to find F (F Major) The Fundamentals for minor scale are resounded in a circle of fourths, every two tones and a semitone starting in D minor. First, the natural tonic until adding six heights with flats for natural Scale, and then the three Fundamentals for scale in absolute minor mode: g♯ - c♯ - f♯. The latter are fundamental tonic pitches for a minor scale. If it is a major scale, then it is enharmonic flats. - A hug from Colombia.
