Hey everyone! Hope you like this video first one I have recorded this year :) Mini FAQ on the series Below 1. This is a daily series I really wanted to play more of this and nothing else took my interest at the moment. 2. This is also the first video I have released on my new set up any technical issues let me know as I am using new settings. 3. I wanted to make this a semi challenge series series so the intention is to only use stuff I find in the galaxy + the black market (as I need supplies such as crew) I also pose the question on if I can use any pirate market but any decision will not take place until after #3 4.Reason the last series ended was due to the pc change that save is long gone besides I wanted to play as a pirate. 5. Mods are in the description as well as how to buy/find the game. 6.Thanks for reading hope people like this as much as I like playing it!

Agreed, I think Black Market and Pirate Markets should be fair game. It just makes sense if playing as a priate.

Starsector has been around for a long time. The 3 core mods for any play through are Nexerillian to make the game world dynamic. It was built to be this way but it hasn't been fleshed out and balanced yet so this mod allows npcs to play Civilization and build colonies, stations, and dynamicly trade better as well as mining. Industrial evolution to balance and flesh out the colony game play for both the player and the npcs. Finally Underworld fleshes out the pirates and adds in some subfactions. Auto pause is a good one too. It stops the game everytime you get an unknown or enemy on your sensors.

It's never worth selling the ships, as the amount of supplies, machinery and metal you get by salvaging them has greater value than selling the ship itself. Plus, whenever you salvage a ship, all weapons it would have if restored are dropped, so you don't lose any weapons.

Use pirate ship names like Queen Anne's Revenge or Black Pearl if you cant think of any designation. Pirates do as they please. XD

the only thing ive never done in Starsector is a pirate playthrough. With mods its such an interesing playstyle too, you can found your own pirate empire basically. I think i'll play a pirate run now, thanks for the inspiration!

Great start to a series, I'm always hungry for starsector content to have on in the background while I also play it myself. To the question you asked about restoring ships: you pay a hefty premium to do so, way more than the ship is worth if you were to buy it in mint condition. But the benefit of doing so is you don't have to wait around to find that ship in mint condition, you can just restore the one you have if you like it enough. Either that, or spec into industry tree as the 4th tier has an option that removes d-mods over time

Pirates never care about the transponder, so long as it's off you're anonymous. The components are for building ships at a salvage yard, I never use them.

You theoretically CAN get more money out of recovering and selling later. Requires the perk to remove D-mods and the perk to load 3 s-mods though. At least, as far as I can tell. Usually better off scrapping in terms of pure value, and you are very far away from those perks.

To answer your question yes i think it is fine to use the Pirate market's and Black market's but anything else is off the table So you either got to steal it, find it OR buy it from illegal sources.

If you are allowed to take prizes, other limitations on buying ships are kinda pointless. Because you'll eventually get whatever fleet you want by hunting the corresponding factions. Frankly, i'd rather watch a playthrough where you are limited to the ships tagged as "pirate" and "hmi junker"(if you have Hazard Mining Inc. mod), or maybe that plus all low tech(let's assume for roleplay purposes pirate havens are not equipped to maintain more complex systems). But, it's your game so do whatever.

Have you tried running Starsector using Java 8 rather than the & it ships with? Since I moved to 8 I have yet to get the memory leak.

Edit: If u press left ALT and houver over the items while storaging, they transfer instantly :) Hiho. One Question: I see you do not have installed tahlan Shipworks. So. Is that for that reason, it doesnt run with Industrial Revolution? I think thats the case for my Game and I would wonder if Industrial Revolution is worth, not having more Ship-options? I never tried IR, should I ? ^^ In fewer words: Is it good? Tahlan is really great (plus all the other amazing stuff like Nerexlin etc) But I'd like to do more 4x things that we like to do? ^^ sry for bad english

I do not have the alt thing enabled mentioned it a few times :) I have not used the Tahlan shipworks mod so I'm afraid I cannot say if it would work the the other ones I have installed sorry for not being much help! I will say they normally mention on the mod page if there are conflicts however.

@@ThreatX Little Update: Pause the vid by 3:06 the "custom" button on the bottom let you set up your startfleet from 1 - 30 ships. If u go to high u will named a cheater from your own game ^^

Did you notice that your fleet has inept pd gunners giving you a -36% to range and damage for pd. Maybe the reason you pd sucks

Mods keep games alive there is only so many times you can play through something with the same content without updates. that being said the bounty hunter series I did on the game had no mods if I recall.

@@ThreatX Yeah, I remember. There is just always the issue I have of these factions being rather unbalanced or making the mainline factions redundant and not knowing the game well enough to begin with, that the mods just indrease the feeling of incomprehension
