I would still play Q3A if it weren't nearly dead because of Quake Live. I would very much have rather seen a revivified Quake 3. Like, Quake 3 re-mastered with improved server support. Instead, we have this current era of garbage.

It's the lighting, same deal with FEAR! Had to do some troubleshooting to fix the textures when I reinstalled Q4 onto win10 and fixed the textures but things still looked like junk! Then I realized I messed up the ambient lighting in the game. Its crazy just how much the lights can affect things

Also not all shot in chest with a bullet directly near heart died. In some situations adrenaline injection directly in heart is only way to keep you alive.

That needle must have had a HEAVY a pretty strong tranquilizer, otherwise our main character would have been bleeding to death LONG before the transformation was done as his heart would be pumping like crazy from all the stress and pain.

The first thing they did was inject him with nanites. They pretty much cause accelerated regeneration in the host's living tissue. That's why he didn't bleed out and maybe why he didn't pass out from shock.

It was probably tons of adrenaline. This also explains the boosted max health value. If y'remember, in Quake 2, whenever y'collected an Adrenaline tube, y'got a +1 health to your grand total. By the end of the game, y'could have moar than 140 health 😊

I played this game's campaign a week ago. It's still thrilling and fun. There's just so many things special about Quake 4 and its campaign. It didn't hold back on the gory and gruesome horrors of war, and THAT'S what helped to actually immerse you into the story as a player. Not many games do that anymore, and that's why I appreciate this game's story.

Also, there's a roomer, that when the US found out, they told them to stop immediately OR just give them a copy of all the data they had accumulated so far and could continue. By the way Quake 4 (and Doom 3 as well) had native Linux port. Pity that Carmack forgot about Linux with his later games. Though Quake 2016 run just fine in Linux under Steam Play/Proton. Maybe Carmack at least will do Quake 4 remake - Proton will do the rest.

I don't have a PC, would love to play it without using my 360. It runs like dogshit during fights, especially boss fights where it looks like a slideshow. Especially Quake 2, I hope that gets a re release like Quake did. I still have my bonus disc that came with Quake 4 on launch that has Quake 2 on 360. Slightly remastered for the console. Is great still.
