I've paused it will have to come back to tomorrow. I think there is some value here but so much filler, without being rude you need to just get to the point.

Sorry for the spam, Isaac. Completely forgot about spamming. Was just experimenting (how to bold, underline, what was permissible or not). I ultimately linked a G-Docs in my most recent/updated comment. I will be heedful of this next time. Better, I will hopefully be able to make my comments short enough from next time such that I won't need any links but let it just be a pithy YT comment.

Hey Isaac, Here is some constructive feedback: I think you should make your videos shorter, otherwise, many people may not be able to watch them. 👍 Ryo

@@r4y__748 *Important parts here bold (below for full summary - do not recommend reading it, because the paramount points are here+much shorter):* *This is for students who do not absolutely love studying or when productivity is like a grind (it’s doable, but there is some-much resistance). If not the aforementioned, you may read below.* *First, readers here should find academics challenging, painful. Using progressive overload, you go from being accustomed to pain smaller than that which you face in academics. Encountering such pains everyday, you will also have increased courage to face academics everyday, and you can be constantly productive long-term. ‘Do small (should not be too difficult and should take little time) but uncomfortable things’* *Basically, pain causes action. So, you have to be in pain constantly, to be constantly productive. Long-term for both as well, if that is what you’re aiming for. You need some smaller discomforts compared to academics, so brush your teeth, make your bed, clean up your desk, tidy up your room. The point here is to not procrastinate. Once you have the thought ‘I should brush my teeth’, even if you don’t want to, go right ahead and just do it, forcing and defying yourself. But it shouldn’t be too much pressure either. By building resistance towards procrastination for smaller things, you’ll be able to resist procrastinating the larger things too, like academics. Remember, taking physical action is the easiest way to rewire your habits (you will see immediate results or in days - especially for those always stuck in their heads, never getting anything done, right?). Just move. Just defy yourself. No more.* Summary Isaac oscillated between periods of discipline and non-discipline. When disciplined, he would get completed all the tasks he set for himself, without doing any of the things his unproductive-self did, like social media, porn, etc. *me: It may be interesting to note that his unproductive and productive self are polar opposites, one where he only indulged his 'bad' habit, and the other, where he got everything done which he set for himself. This may suggest burn-out or an imbalance from his productive periods (where the benefits or happiness derived from his passion of doing work and being productive, is overwhelmed by the negativity and pressures he faces - Isaac can confirm, not sure if this is true - tbh, I think you’re on the right track Isaac if you’re following the constant/routine pain concept i.e. constant long-term productivity succeeds). Basically, discipline/productivity/action requires one of three motivations. 1.Emotional Pain: Shame or guilt from being in ruts cause motivation for periods of sole productivity, in which there is no more emotional discomfort. Without discomfort, there is no motivation, so productivity stops. Verdict: you must be in constant long-term pain in order to be in constant long-term productivity. However the pain, Isaac says, doesn't have to be shame/guilt, but can be more neutral in nature. (related to point 3. Isaac build-on there.) 2.Love /Passion: For what one loves or is emotionally satisfied doing, there is positive reinforcement. Loves or emotionally satisfied=dopamine production, and we like doing what produces dopamine -> motivation for reinforcement/repetition -> repeat i.e. taking physical action (strengthens one's connection with that activity) -> habitualize 3.Changing one's unproductive self-identity into a productive one: Our current identities (comfort-zones) may constitute unproductivity, and so when we try to be productive, that is outside of our identity/comfort-zone, creating pain. This causes fallback to unproductive self. By making our identity our productive selves, we feel pain being unproductive, snapping back to productivity. Simply, conditioning our brains to make productivity easier, and unproductivity more difficult. Solution: Charlie Morgan's 'Put effort to resistance' (doing small but uncomfortable things), relating to progressive overload (going from low-high difficulty). Do small but uncomfortable things (important that should not take much time, and ideally coming from yourself, not parents or others): Brushing teeth, making your bed, cleaning up your desk, etc. By doing these things daily which are discomforting {discomfort is necessary here for productivity in school (if you’re aiming for) if you naturally find academics discomforting, or at any rate, cannot love it}, we are constantly accustomed to 'emotional pain', and so it is easier to be productive in higher-difficulty things like academics, because we have already become accustomed to the 'emotional difficulty' associated with being productive in such things, albeit to a weaker degree. my take: if you are doing school and struggle there, #s 1 & 3 are of particular importance I feel. Basically you become accustomed to pain by encountering pain every single day in small and minute ways, allowing you to more easily overcome difficulties you will face in academics. Again, when you do these 'small but uncomfortable things', don't procrastinate. As soon as you have the thought, 'time to brush my teeth', go straight ahead and do it without much hesitation (you will find balance over time and know the right time for doing uncomfortable things after you've had associated thoughts, because there should never be too much pressure either). Basically, you go against procrastination for small things, attaining a productive attitude for them, and so being able to so for bigger academic things. physical action over thinking and being in your head (one of the most skillful (best) ways to change ourselves). beginning will be greater discomfort. but keep defying yourself -> defying will become much easier over time.
