Why do we seek becoming/ attainment mentally ? Becoming is the state of tension between seeking/staying in the pseudo safety of habit and the deep knowing that life is a movement, not a state. This creates a conflict and thought seeks out any problem to solve for the human to move out of stagnation. So anything is seen as a problem, a source of pleasure or pain. At the same time, we feel incomplete, not alive when not solving a problem. Wanting to become is creating a problem. It's an (imagined) carrot in front of the mule. Not real, but very effective.

Thats true huh? The desire of becoming as the root which then conditions a train of thought, leading to frustration and confusion. Generations were bent on becoming and now the current generations find such becoming either out of reach or obviously hollow. A big one, in terms of what illusion one fails to see, is the artificial nature of thought. Humankind regards thought as much more sacred or evolved than just a mechanical process of gathering and applying knowledge, memory, or experience.

Ouch, the ole roulette of being/becoming/doing. Our species is both human and being; often, simultaneously. Much of the time, we are locked into the material realm, which manifests through our humanity. Our being is not entirely spiritual in nature, as we have two legs symbolic of movement back and forth between the twin realms which are essentially One. As Father Thomas Berry was wont to proclaim: "Nothing is itself without everything else." This is a lengthy discussion. hahaha No one has figured it all out, so far...nasty spiritual divinity eh?! hahaha
