This is exactly what I feel has been happening within my life these past couple of years specifically that God is doing within my life. This journey I am on is that of a forming and polishing. It is not a journey that I have asked for but THE journey God knows I have to take to continue to deepen my faith and my love for him in the Eucharist. This gospel message I will come back to again and again. Thank you for your wisdom and insight. God Bless all of you at Ascension Presents.

Wow. Today i just stood up for myself after suffering a workplace bully for 4 years and this video makes me wonder if my aggressive response made me a faulty arrow and whether i should have done as my favorite St. Therese and just smiled and been gracious while hurting inside.

Humble Daughter or maybe it was your time to shine just like St John the Baptist. Maybe it was God's will that you stand up to the bully so other people could be spared. Don't beat your self up GOD WILL BLESS AND KEEP YOU 😆 🕇 ❤

Humble Daughter i think it depends on how serious your reaction. But you seem to know we should be meek and humble. Something we need to keep trying by remembering to trust God...

There are many 'John The Baptists' crying to the Lord day and night these days. A few reach fame. But if they do not conform to the climate of this age they do not become popular. Bishop Fulton J. Sheen was an exception, but that had a lot to do with the climate of this age only started come into force at the end of his life (which he prophesied would happen); and he struck a note with many because of the Cold War. One of the saddest things; Biblical histories often take decades or even centuries to come into fruition, even fulfillment of Words of God. Many call Bishop Fulton J. Sheen, good for 'his day,' and told a lot of lasting truths of the faith and with regards to the Cold War; but instead of realizing more aspects of his Words of God, which were extremely detailed in things coming to pass in our day --- updating with compassionate sustained assertiveness to today's thin skinned audience; a good portion of what The Holy Spirit inspired him to teach in specifics is disregarded or down played. He decreased, and there is a remnant today who, for wholeness in The Gospel for our day; let Jesus Christ increase to see through the powerful fog over the nations; and really throughout The Church, today. But a more clear 'John The Baptist,' would be John Cardinal O'Conner. Looking at the entirety of his striving to fulfill The Gospel of Life and Living The Gospel of Life --- with his entire life witness; not anesthetized by the longevity of a certain long time brutality; truly living up to and striving to bring about a sign of contradiction, both in providing earthly needs in the hedgerows and highways; shining Christ Jesus' Lamp on the hillside to give Glory to our Father in Heaven; and standing up for a return to each human life has God given dignity; intrinsic value; and Sacredness of Life in laws and practices; like John Paul ii did for the whole world; like Mother Teresa taught; among others --- John Cardinal O'Conner is an extremely relevant 'John The Baptist of These United States of America. Please understand; I don't know hearts. I don't know who are the Nicodemus persons, and Joseph of Arimathea persons; but how is Jesus Christ's compelling question of John Cardinal O'Conner's witness, (Is it a complete message from Heaven, or is it from men?) being answered? (here is an indicator - is the portion of the 'legal' brutality; where by born late term children, are left to suffocate, with tiny panicked screams struggling to breath; their necks snipped; or otherwise brutally killed - reluctantly by the media brought to the light a little bit in 2013 or so; happening widespread across the land --- babies sold for body parts or thrown in the trash; even with recommendations of putting some bodies in incinerators as 'medical waste,' an unambiguous national disgrace? So was partial birth abortion with similar brutality, being brought to the light in the 1990s. And all of this speaks of the immense brutality of the culture of death in immense numbers every day. One of the things Bishop Fulton J. Sheen prophesied about was complicit and complacency toward brutality.) Bishop Fulton J. Sheen said there would come a day, when there would be a great humanitarian movement in The Church, in all outward appearances the same Church; but many will not realize the entirety of The True Church will only be taught by a remnant. The Light shines in the darkness. God help us. God will grow the peaceful Gideon like army of The Remnant one way or another. Will there be an act of God? How will God allow providence to more overtly effect all of us. God only knows.

Jeffery Cavins in his introduction to John the Baptist states that while John was in the desert he was being prepared for something special. And that John was called by God before he was born and given his name. Mr Cavins finds a connection to the Baptist in Isaiah 49: 1-6 liking the Baptist to a polished arrow in God's quiver. However, Isaiah 49 has no connection to John the Baptist whatsoever. The sharpened or polished arrow in God's quiver refers directly to Jacob-not the Baptist!

Should we dress and eat the same way as John? That would be interesting! Lol

Simple Christian Living Case in point for me. I have a small amount of clothing. Barely taking up 1/4 of closet space. My wife has the rest. She is working on it, though. We have either donated or sold a lot of her stuff.
