God this was amazing. Mary had such a tragic life, taken away from her mother, rejected and treated like trash by her father, made a bastard, forced to serve her half-sister and disliked by her husband. And only thing she is remembered by is being "Bloody Mary". Sure, she did mistakes and things that shouldn't be approved on but did many good things such as groundwork for queen regnants. So I hope that one day we can truly see her as something else than "Bloody". Your edit really did her justice

I wrote a screenplay about Mary years ago. Just as I started to shop it around again, 'Becoming Elizabeth' came out. I am so happy that this shows Mary in a fairer light. She has always played the villian in poor Virgin Elizabeth's story. Her portrayal here is wonderful. I will have my work on her scene, even if I have to fund it myself. Her story deserves to be told...

I wrote this script a couple years ago, sent it to a couple contests etc. Now that I have a team , we're doing a couple of projects on ourselves, but now we're serious about getting it done, alone or with others!

@@joelas87 I totally agree and was so careful to do this. The characters, from her principal ladies, to advisors to council members are all in it. I don't mind saying that it begins with the warning she received NOT to go to her sick brother because he was likely, already dead.

Mary I & Catherine of Aragon suffered so much at the hands of Henry VIII & Anne Boleyn. I’m glad modern times have softened everyone’s outlook on Mary. She was not the bloody tyrant her Protestant opponents made her out to be. She was a victim of her father’s wrath, suffering the most turbulent life of all the Tudors. May she always RIP.

It always frustrates me that there is so little fiction to watch or read about Mary. I think she would make the most compelling main character! I would love an exploration into how her childhood and her father & brothers reigns forced her to become what she is known as now ‘bloody Mary’ (although I think this depiction of her is very unfair! A much misunderstood historical figure)
